Default Are you going to Austin on 1-10-07?

If you are planning to go to Austin on 1-10-07 please PM jojacks or myself. We are planning on going as is Willsgirl. I thought if we could stay in the same area then maybe we could meet in the lobby of the building and all go in together. If you need info on where we are staying jojacks should have it this afternoon. Please, if you are able to go or live close enough to meet us there let us know. It is time for us to be active participants where Sunset Review Commission is concerned. They are our only hope that things will ever be better for our family members and loved ones. If per chance we aren't allowed to voice our opinions at this time we need to know what goes on so we can be more knowledgeable and prepared at future events.
Thanks,
Katy

What is this about. I might be able to go if it is worth my while and I can get a sitter. My husband is there and I usually stay at the Super 8 on I35. It's 3 1/2 drive for me so what's the deal?

Crap! I just snapped the 10th is a Wednesday. Not good for me. My kids are in school and my son has his follow up on his broken ankle. Hmmm... I have to read more into this. Darn it! I wish I knew about this sooner.

I would love to go, but I can't take off work. I will be praying for ya'll that God will provide each of you the opportunity to speak, the ears of all to be opened for them to listen and that He may give you the words to say that will bring about effective changes. May God bless each of you in this endeavor! Karen

I have a sincere interest in attending this hearing however I am curious as to what time people are going to meet on the 10th and where? Austin is only 3 1/2 hours away for me so I don't believe I'd spend the night. Does anyone know what time the Parole issues are going to be discussed? Thanks

Hey ladies! I live very near as well, so I may be able to make it if I can slip out of work. Where are you guys going to meet before the meeting, and at what time? It would be very cool to finally get to meet you all, in person. Maybe we can get something positive done for our loved ones this legislative session.

Just wanted to let you guys know that we made it down safe and sound. We watched the House vote on the different house bills, OH MY GOD we are in so much trouble. They spent over 3 house on HB35 and they didnt even get done with that. If the meeting tomorrow is conducted the same way we are in deeper trouble.

Tish02 we are waiting on you to call.
Nance thanks for checking on us!!!! We wont do to much damage while we are here.

We will let yall know the update as soon as we can.

We are home!!!!! Willsgirl will fill everyone in. All I can say is when the meeting was over as far as TDCJ business, Rissie Owens, her husband and Brad Livingston made a mad dash for the door.
Also, do NOT believe anything willsgirl and Katy tell you about me!!!

Tish, it was good to meet you too. I also talked to Nance a couple of times while we were there. Not too much was accomplished, but Sen. Whitmire got his points across and people paid attention. It was a good experience. I now know how much time is wasted during the House meetings!!!!!

I'm grateful to all of you that traveled and stood up for our loved ones. Thank you very much. A big thanks to Senator John Whitmere who does know the truth behind our problemed justice systems in Texas. I say he should run for president. Heck, he'd have alot of votes, after all, half our Texas popluation is in or on probation or parole. He'd get my vote! Thanks again to each and everyone of you that traveled, took time and voiced an opinion.
