Default Driver's License Expired

A co-worker just asked me if you can still visit if your DL is expired. I have no clue, so I told her I'd ask here. I know this should probably be posted in the Visitation forum but I thought I'd get a quicker response here. Any ideas?

No, one cannot have an expired DL- -but all they have to do is pay DPS 5.00 and a peice of paper from DPS with their old one and that is legal. The old DL will have the picture- -simple.
Be safe.

Exactly what everyone else said! Has to be "valid" ID. We had bought a home and moved and my old PO box was on my DL.. I used the internet TXDOT and paid the $5 for the address change and had a new one in the mail in about 7 days.

No Valid DL -- you can get a Texas ID card which can be used in place of a DL. You get them at the same place as you do your DL. I used my ID for 6 months until I could get my DL back.
