Unhappy Anger Management/Domestic Violence. Help I need resources for my hubby on parole

Hi, Im very new to this whole prison talk. Seems to be very helpful though, my husband has been out 1 1/2 year now and im 5mnths pregnant with our son. He is very abusive and has anger management problems that need to be addressed. Does anyone out there know were or what type of resources there are for parolees or a low cost maybe even free. We are in LA more near NORTHEAST LA/EAST LA. Im trying my hardest to make this work and help him before it gets any worse and he ends up right back in the walls and leaves myself and 3 boys behind. PLS HELP....

Default Help for Domestic Violence

You should be able to get some information from the
Domestic Hotline(National) #1-800-799-7233. If I were
you I would explain the situation when you call hun.
I am sure they can refer you to some help specifically
for him. Please be careful with your sweet babies.
Also he has to be willing to get into these programs.
This info will not help if he is not willing to do something
about this. You should also look into help for your self.
They would be able to assist you too in case you have
to get out of there before it escalates in to something
horrible.

Take care of yourself I hope this info helps
Blessings and Grace

Honey, if you can find a batterers program, that's the one for him to take. Anger management is not effective for abusers. Also, do not do any couples counseling in your efforts to make things better. Definitely call your local DV agency to find local resources.

If he doesn't want to do the batterer program, then you have to think about escaping for good. If he does, then you have a chance that things could improve.

I went through a 52 week Batterer's Intervention Program through Safe Quest. It cost me $35 a week, which was difficult with no job. However, I heard that if you are able to get a letter from parole showing you are unemployed, you can have the fee reduced.

Your husband is the one who has the problem. If he was serious about getting help then he would be the one moving heaven and earth to get it. A person with a problem like that needs to first admit that he has one then he needs to find a qualified licensed mental health professional to get cognitive therapy to overcome it. You say you are trying your hardest to make this work, without his hard work, the situation doesn't stand a chance.
