Default Violation questions

So, my boyfriend violated the probation for the third time. If you look at his record, he has not committed the same crime twice, and everytime he's been violated it has been for minor things like disturbing the peace or failure to pay child support. This time, he was violated for disturbing the peace, and is currently in jail. His PO wants him to do 18 months in prison, but the last time he saw a judge, they told him if he violated again that he would be serving the remainder of his sentence of 9 months. How likely is it that the PO will get her way, and has anyone had any experiences like this?

PO can violate him on a technicality, no matter how minor it is.. but she doesn't get to decide the punishment. The judge does. That's who you should worry about. Hope the public defender can help him!! Hoping the worst doesn't come to fruition for your boyfriend!

My hubbys PO recommended the 72 month sentence and mostly the judges agree, unfortunately. I feel judges don't really pay attention. This also happened when I was a victim of a crime too. But I did not like his PO, I am almost glad he went and will be on parole and not have to deal with probation!

I'm not a fan of my boyfriend's PO either. Also, how can I find his Public Defender? The courthouse told me he has to tell me who it is, but when he called I asked him, and he said his public defender has not been to see him or tried to contact him at all. I'm going to ask this in another section though, of how to get a hold of his public defender.

I believe they cannot make him serve after his sentence is over unless they give him a new case and add that on, but most minor cases like that will run concurrant imo. I am not a legal expert by any means but I am 99.9% certain they cannot hold you past the end of your sentence ...
