If you hear from your fella at Vacaville over the next few days, give a shout. My son just called to say they are on quarantine status for a Neurovirus. For some reason the cops are shutting the phones down. Why??? He's in C dorm, so please post if you have an update.

Does anyone know if there are problems in C dorm with the phones? My husband hasn't called in two days.

We are all beautiful people and I have a question for you beautiful people, particularly the ladies. Ladies, how do you remain "cute" on visitation day while still observing the prison's dress code?

I am hoping to visit my guy soon and as you all know the restrictions on dress are extreme. What to you ladies do preserve your own sense of style? I'd like to still look and feel as much like myself as possible. What do you ladies do? What do you generally wear that makes you feel comfortable/cute? Any tips? Thanks Ladies!

Default Visiting CMF

Thanks in advance for any help! Trying to plan my first visit, expect to be approved any day now- Not sure if he will be at the Ranch or not- he’s supposed to be, but they haven’t moved him. I understand the visitation there is more relaxed, but for my questions let’s assume worst case scenario and that he’s in the main dorm area.

1) How far out do you have to book appts? (Is it realistic to schedule for a week or two out?)

2) How strict is the dress code for “fitted/tight”? I can’t figure out what kind of pants to wear? I was going to wear black jeans but not sure if that will be considered “fitted”? Otherwise it’s loose slacks? Which sounds really unattractive. What kind of bottoms do you wear? Lol

3) How long are the visits? I’ve heard initial processing can take 2-3 hours?

4) Are there lockers at the facility so I can bring extra clothes incase they have a problem with what I’m wearing?

5) When I arrive at the facility where do I check in?

6) Any pointers/tips on what I should know, do, bring, etc??? Lol- sorry any tips are appreciated! I did read the CDCR visitation handbook but realize it covers all the facilities and they can vary quite a bit…..

1) You can book 1-2 weeks ahead of time, you must use VPass and bring a printout of your appointment with you.
2) How strict they are will depend on who is checking you in. I would always be cautious on the first visit.
3) My visits are usually until a little after 3pm. Processing didn't take that long for me, but I had an appointment.
4) If you visit the ranch, you have to process through visiting then go into the main visiting room and purchase all your food for your visit. Then you go back to visitor processing and a van takes you to the ranch visiting area.
5) there are lockers, but if you have to change they send you to the friends outside trailer.

I wouldn't take any chances... Every prison I've ever visited at required that you have an appointment for inmates in the hole.

VPASS will allow you set up an account and make an appointment. If you aren't approved the facility will not allow you to visit.

Default 2015 visiting cmf for the first time lots of Q's

hey everyone! I'm going to my first visit in 3 weeks. I live about 260 miles from vacaville so this has been a long overdue trip. can you guys tell me what to expect and which motels are near, prices? Clothing are they strict? or as long as clothes arent revealing or in resemblance of the inmates will it be ok. i know basics (no underwire bra, bring quarters,) from what i read in the policy book but thats generic. i wanted info from actual visitors how long are the visits? whats the setting like is it like just go sit at a table and you feel like your under a spotlight i mean is it formal? ive never been to any prison to visit ive already been cleared for visits and got my vpass appt set up. any ifo is much appreciated tia 😊

Our son was just transferred here from reception. He comes home in October, so will be here for three months. We are cleared for visits also, but since he was just sent here haven't made a visit request just yet. I have been to other CA prisons, but never this one so I have no idea what this one is like. I am hoping you get a response so I can see what you find out!!!! Good luck with your visit and I hope you get some info for both of us.

Its pretty straight forward go up to the podium and check in and they will assign you a table. Have a second change of clothes in the car. Bring dollars and quarters but picture tokens before you come in if you want pictures hope that helps. Google hotels in vacaville prices will be there good luck ladies.
