Was that the Christmas party? I thought the funding for that comes out of the REC fund.

I would say for any Christmas party.....they already have the decorations.....all they really need to spend money on is the food. They definitely have the manpower to do the decorating and the set up.....haha.

i hear all of you. My mother is there and they almost killed her. SHe was there for three days and had to be brough to the hospital because they refused to giver her enough insulin, she is a diabetic. While at the hospital she had to have her gall bladder removed, because the jail didn't give her enough insulin and allowed her blood sugar to get to high.

It is a shame that somethng still hasn't been done about these criminals that they call co's. One of the nurses told my mother she was a liar and she didn't have diabetes, and another told her he was too overworked to give a shit.

There is abuse in VS. It also depends on the COs on duty. Some take advantage of there power but there are a few who are fairly nice guys. One CO at valley is always very sweet to me and my bf because he's a part time cop in my town. Other COs though are rough and cruel. My boyfriend is in a regular unit at VS, and hasn't had many medical issues, but he will most likely be needing surgery when he gets out. He is 6'6" and has pretty large feet, and the shoes don't fit him...nothing they will do about it, so now both of his feet are permanently screwed up and he is in constant pain. He also had to have a wisdom tooth pulled after it was infected for months....and they refused to even give him tylenol! It is terrible that they treat people like this. I can't wait til hes home and away from VS.

Default Is this the same as the Hillsborough County Jail?

Sorry for the dumb question, but is the Valley St. Jail the same place as the Hillsborough County Jail on Willow St? I have a relative who is going to the Hillsborough County Jail TOMORROW and I'm hoping it's not the same place!

Nooo, there's no such thing as a dumb question! There's plenty of info. in the NH forum discussing Valley St. Just scroll around and you'll find the topics about the jail. Here is the phone # for the Valley St. Jail; 627-5620. And the doc web site below;

That PLACE is a disgusting nightmare. My mission in life is to bring national attention to this place. The GOD I pray to, says do not look away if you are a human being that cares about fellow man/woman
