Okay so my fiance was final sentenced on 9/13/16 to 5yrs (felony theft and PFO 2) and on 12/20/16 for 3yrs (POSS OF METH), consecutive. He also has a FTA warrant for a PTR out of IL. He still hasn't been classified, and I was wondering when or if he'll get moved to prison. He's in McCracken Jail now and it's so nasty and horrible there, and they don't have any programs to help him get time cuts. Is there anything I can do for him on the outside?
No, not really. He can try writing to DOC Classification Branch in Frankfort to ask when/if he'll be transferred. However, he may get moved eventually to another county facility since he's class D. He most likely won't go to Roederer.
If one is in a county facility doing state time, it is up to him (or you) to contact other county (full service facilities) to see if they'll take him. Then it'll be up to the jailers at each place to arrange transport.
What's a PTR? If IL lodges a detainer on him, he may not go there until he's paroled out of KY or serves his time.
