(LEX 18) Severe storms ripped through Kentucky, damaging seven of Kentucky's 12 state prisons.
The Kentucky Department of Corrections said that the facilities hit the hardest were the Kentucky State Penitentiary and the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex, as well as the Blackburn Correction Complex.
Ugh. My son may never be moved from county. I think he might be in solitary confinement since he hasn't called me all week. The head co said he would be moved Tuesday and since it didn't happen, I'm afraid he went off the deep end. Bi polar with no medication and just wanting to leave county seg. unit along with a lengthy sentence is becoming unbearable. Hope the prisons aren't damaged too bad.
The problem is overcrowding. Normally, an inmate is moved from county to classification and assessment within the first 30 days after sentencing. However, it is taking a lot longer, sometimes months in some instances. He'll get moved eventually. Hang in there.
