New commitment means they are in on a new case/charges.

Really?? It doesn't show anything else that has changed just under that and I'm trying to figure out what's going on. Usually it shows when he's gotten a write up or something

After researching, it says it's a new term of incarceration aka a changing to their sentence.

So how would I know what his sentence is changed to? Or what is going on with that. Cause his earliest release is still showing the same since the beginning

Does that mean they got into trouble or is something they're doing with everybody? Because it says that on my mans info too

This is confusing
Would that mean they got into any trouble? Usually it says when they have a ticket or violation on the bottom.

My son's says that too, but I thought it was he is in the last 12 months prior to being turned over to adult probation.

Maybe a good idea to wait a week or so and see if it changes back.

Hi Ladies, I see this too for my loved one. Everything's the same too except that on his profile. Any updates on this? Is it because they have only a few months left and parole packages are being worked on? Wondering if it changed because of this.

Hi, everyone keeps saying that it means that he picked up a case but I'm still very unsure. For mine says earliest release date 4/19. So not sure if putting everything together for him cause he's in as and from ca. If find out anything can you please share it.

OK guys... relax. I don't really think it means anything. My husband has that, as well. Look at your LO's release date. If that has changed... worry.

It may mean they are paroling to a halfway house, or that they are being released on parole.

Just out of curiosity, what did it say before? Or is just a new field on the information screen?

Also, as I stated before, as long as his release date hasn't changed and he has no pending charges, don't get too upset. One can obsess over these things so much they get sick. Don't do that to yourself.

Mines has not been moved and hopefully not. Maybe your LO is going to a minimum facility because he is being released this year? Hopefully he is closer to you.

I just found out that it means it's a new charge that that's the reason they are in prison. Not a violation or anything. It does not mean that they got a new charge while in prison. It's something new that they are doing. So nothing to worry about.

It isn't anything for us to worry about and has nothing to do with your LO being moved. He could be moved because it's time for him to be reclassified....he could be moved because they need to put someone on that yard and he had fewer conflicts with other yards. They could be moving him because they have wild hair up their butts. If you over think things, they become worse than they actually are.

EDIT-- I spoke with hubby's COIII yesterday and he said it is not something to worry about. Central office is just changing things up again.

I contacted the Friends and Family Liason about it and the next day it was changed back. As noted below, guess they were doing some kind of clerical change.
Thank goodness, because it sure can cause unneeded worry

I checked Mr B's today and his is changed back, as well. I'm wondering if it didn't get on their website by error.
