I'm wondering if it depends on the facility or the reason why you are in confinement. I sent books and they arrived while my loved one was in disciplinary confinement. They were waiting for him in property when he was released from DC. He was allowed his Bible and letter writing materials while in DC.

I don't know of anything that is the exact same across the board at every facility.

Marty's have been put in property until he got out of confinement, too. The only time they were sent back is when I ordered online and didn't specify ground USPS shipping. DOC REFUSES ALL OTHER DELIVERIES.

The Twilight series was paperback as well as 50 shades but, Harry Potter went in hardback.

And, I'm not 22 any longer so I don't remember details like I used to and it runs my blood pressure up to get something back so, I always call the property room or ask Marty, 'how you want me to send these?'.
