So far, it's all a hearsay. Nothing is down on paper. Everyone needs to push the issue to get it established. If anything, the inmates that transfer to MS should get it because CA allows it and so does the state of MS.

Hello there, sorry for the dumb question but what exactly is a family visit? is that different from a regular visit? I thought they were allowed no matter what?

My husband told me many inmates went to speak to the head staff the other day and the staff said that there's no family visits due to Sacramento not having given them the order. However, when I called Sacramento, the captain there told me that it's solely up to CCA to establish it. They already gave them the green light on it. I think the facility won't establish it because they don't want to spend the money building the trailers (rooms). Anyone here anything about this??

I agree. They don't want to fork out the money to build the facilities and pay the C/O anymore than they have to.

You're right Liroje. And with all these lockdowns going on, there's no way they'll want to focus on establishing family visits. Just look at the Playstation. Inmates at other facilities already have the Playstation set and here at TCCF, there's nada.

They were told that they can now order Playstation sets but none have been able to due to the lockdowns. Also, I contacted the vendor and he said it's not up and running yet.

Hi Ladies, I just called Sac and they said it may take awhile but they will establish family visits in all of the out of state facilities. Sac told me right now the facilities are not running smoothly yet. Once everything is running efficiently and each facility has enough manpower, they will set up the family visits. I also spoke to the warden at TCCF and he said family visits are not established now but will later in the future. At least it wasn't a definite no, right?

With all the riots and lockdowns they've been having lately, the last thing on their mind is family visits. But you're right wifey143, they are lacking in manpower. I was visiting last month and could see that there was a shortage of staff. Maybe that's why they're so disorganized. Well, I hope and pray that family visits will get established.

See surely "arnold" did not care much less thought of the inconvenience and hardship his "transfer" to other states would have an impact in us. He's home kicking up his heels with his family, while we're here thinking of ways to gather the funds to see our loved ones at least 2 times per year. I sure don't have the funds to go see him every month, I would love to but I can't. The system fails to see that people do/will make mistakes in their lives, some bigger than others but they rehabilitate while incarcerated (some) and those are the ones that should be given a second chance, but our system is too narrow minded.

I totally agree with you Liroje. Mr. Arnie doesn't give a crap for inmates. For all he knows, inmates are the scum of the earth and in his eyes, they can never change into a new leave. And you're right, there's no consideration for inmates' family. If there was, inmates wouldn't be transferred out of state. I always feel like I'm "doing" time with my husband. Does anyone else feel that way?

Ladies, while I totally understand your frustration, let's keep this thread on topic for those who are looking for actual Family Visit info in the future?

The political portion can go to the Cali Peeps thread for now.

My loved one is a long way away from me also so I do understand.
