Unhappy Help!! What could have happened? Boyfriend Supposed to be Released

Hey everyone. Sorry if I am not posting in the correct place. Just registeted today.
Was hoping someone could ease my nerves. My boyfriend, currently in Kern Valley, was schediled to be released yesterday, 3/24/2013, but wasnt. I have.no idea what couldve happened. The last.letter from him was 3/11 and he even reassured me when he is getting out. Im going crazy .and have no clue what to do and what possibly couldve prevented him from being released. 10 years he has been locked up. Please any ideas what I should do? Thanks so much

Have you contacted the prison. Was he suppose to go to a half way house?

Call the prison and ask if he has been released. Have you checked county? Sometimes after doing a sentence, they end up doing some county time...not sure why, but here in Oregon they do that.

I hope you hear from him and this is not one of those "he has been out and is not coming home to me" deals.

Peace~

I have tried numerous times trying to talk to a live person but always get machine. And he told me in his last letter he found a place but thats all he said. I even received a phone call from the automated place, you know the one that lets victims know the status of an inmate, but they even called telling me he was scheduled to be released ..

I know once my father had an outdate that fell on MLK day so he had to wait another day. So my guess would be that even though his EOS was on the 24th it might not be the day he gets out. Of course it is very stressful for you.

I don't know what happened to your loved one but back in 2000 I went all the way from So Cal to Nor Cal to pick up my friend after 5 years and they looked like and couldn't even tell me where he was!
I ended up going bsck home only to get a call about in the wee hours a few days later. They had taken him to a bus station and sent him on to the Los Angeles train station where I went and picked him up. He was at the prison the whole tome they just didn't process him out when they were supposed to.

Hang in there. I'm sure you will get a call any minute!

Thanks everyone. I have done the locator and it showd he is still in custody. Guess all I can do is wait to get a letter from him. I will keep everyone posted. Again thanks. Much appreciated. One question...does anyone know another number for the prisonbesides the main number? I wanna talk to a live person but have been unsuccessful with that number. Thanks

Call the 661-721-6300 and it should give you the options of doing certain things. Try any button and even if it's the wrong extension they should be able to transfer to the correct one after you explain your situation but at the beginning you must go through a recording. I do that when I dont know who to get a hold of lol But they always end up transferring me to who I need to speak to. Good Luck

The inmate locator takes 5 business days to change when someone goes in, transfers prisons or is released.
Please post when you hear something

One thing you can do to at least see if he's still in custody is call records and ask for his housing and see if he's still in the same cell or there at all. If he's processing out they won't have a housing number for him. Hope this helps.

If they are processing them out for release it should be quick. Processing them into the prison can take from 1 day to a few days. It all just depends on how bad they lag on their paper work and imputing the info in the computer. Records should have an answer for you.

the reason I'm inquiring is because my husband's court hearing was yesterday morning and his petition to be resentenced through prop 36 was granted and the judge resentenced him and ordered him to be released with time served and no further parole obligations so Monday I should call and talk to records to see when I can go pick him up?
