LOL I had these pork sliders on hawaiian rolls with teriaki sauce at some place and they were the bomb!!! I had forgotten all about them. With how long it would take you to get to my house you'd do better to buy the pork and rolls and try it at home but you'd definitely be welcome here anytime!!!

Would be nice, xo.
sigh.......but as usual, I gotta work.

I ended up making or rather reheating some chicken my hub bought. It was precooked.
Made some rice and cooked up the zucs from the neighbor.
Came out ok with little work. I had a lazy lazy day yesterday.
The chicken was a bit much for me. It was preseasoned and cooked so I just had to reheat it (after I defrosted it) and to my surprise it was still pretty moist, but the spice was too smokey for my preference. I still ate a piece tho......

one of the best things my hub ever bought (that initially I thought was dumb to buy) was what I call the Suck and Seal. lol.
Its those plastic baggie things that suck all the air out of the bag.
That way when we buy meats from Costco, we can divvy them up into meal size portions so it makes it easier to figure dinner. (sometimes)

I had one and I gave it away!!! I'm stupid like that. I wish I had one now I am going to this salvation army where I have actually bought a lot of my fancy kitchen stuff brand new!!!LOL I guess it because it's in a rather pricey area and those people don't cook?? I've seen them there a few times just haven't picked one up again, lazy!!! I just found out where there's a Sam's Club and I'm going to join as I have a few neighbors who will go in on bulk stuff with me as long as I'm doing the shopping. As a matter of fact my next door neighbor wants to go this week so off we will go!!!

Nope, no A/C in my office, at home or public transportation (taking the tram). It’s been in the upper 80s and will reach mid 90s this week, the nights cool down a bit but still.... slows you down and makes you tired... so I had my leftover pasta and a fat ice cream from the Italian café by my house

AC........what is THAT???? LOL. no ac here.
And it does get hot.Today was not too bad....80s
But its gonna get hotter according to the weather reports. Not much but still.
(I want ac when it hits the hundreds. THAT is when you really need it)

I need/want another pressure cooker. Mine busted.
it makes it alot easier when you are doing dinner on the fly.
Highly suggest those AND the suck and seal. Wonderful for freezing stuff to thaw out later and get a good deal on meats.......

damn. I am hungry. Gonna have to search for what i want to eat for dinner....leftovers? or ramen? lol. Not sure.

I took the day off to clean and ended up watching videos on the instant pot. Lol

I did cook though. I haven't been and realized I needed to take of myself more. I'm putting on weight from junk and crap my kids eat. We did a big shopping at a produce store.

I made pasta with broccoli rabe and mushrooms. I have enough for lunch all week too!

My husband is on a „ living life ” binge before he goes away. He took me for dinner and that’s going to be the plan for awhile.

Last night, I had a tomato salad made up of all organic heirloom tomatoes. It had a corn panna cotta and corn salsa. The dressing was of tomatillo and smoked paprika oil.

For the main, I had fresh pasta ! It was smothered in roasted cherry tomatoes, some herbs, mushrooms and black truffles. All in a porcini sauce. So good !

For dessert, I had a panna cotta with raspberry syrup and raspberries. On top of that, white chocolate iced cream and pistachio tuile ... which I need to learn how to make !!

My husband had caviar that came with a chopped egg, creme fraiche, chives and some potatoes like crisps. He loves caviar [ethic reason , I figure ] but it is eww to me. And then he had beef tenderloin with mushrooms, French string beans and potatoes in a parsley sauce. Silly man had no dessert .... for me to usurp !

I’m supposed to be watching my weight before a medical procedure and this is not helping !!!! Dinner out again tonight.... help !

Im off Thursday so I'll have all day to figure it out what to make.

I don’t know why but the image of this gives me the chuckles.

This morning [ as usual ... ] I woke at 5.00 and went to the scale. Up over 2 kg ! I poked my husband awake and told him that he’s turning me into Shamu and my doctor will give me hell before my test. He said he didn’t put the food in my mouth and we’ll just have to find a whale doctor that does the same test. Back to sleep he went...

It’s nice not having to cook in the heat but ....

Last night, I had „ fiore di zucca “ : a filled crispy fried squash flower [ we had a thread here once on this ? ] stuffed with buffalo mozzarella and ricotta. It had a puttanesca „ salsa “ with herbs.

My main was asparagus agnolotti. A fancy, overpriced and mislabeled name for ravioli! LOL Fresh stuffed pasta with asparagus and ricotta, with a shallot brandy sauce. The sauce was delicious and I am searching the Internet for a well - rated version to make at home. And then, the most delicious crispy polenta fries! Some thing else I need to learn to copy !

I had 2 desserts !! I couldn’t decide so my husband told me to get both. He would eat what I didn’t finish. The most delicious citrus tart! Lemon curd with lime meringue. How do I make this too ?! And then, pear cheesecake of ricotta, vanilla - flavoured mascarpone, poached pear and caramel !

My husband paid an obscene amount for one of those special steaks. And then, garlic mashed potatoes with onion, bacon and cheese. He doesn’t get fat cause his whole day - job is exercise ! Figures ...

Exercise causes one blood test to be off kilter so I can’t do that before Friday !

Tonight he has reservations at a place that people say has rude service and treats non - regulars as serfs . Should be interesting !

My apologies for the virtual weight gain !

As for last night, with the pompous surroundings and people, the food was o.k. but not anything better than prior. I started with grilled polenta in a mushroom and Gorgonzola cream sauce. Arugula salad with shaved parmesan and cherry tomatoes? Eeeeehhh....

The restaurant offers risotto for 2 so my husband and I shared the wild mushroom one. Typical, not out of this world. My dessert was mixed berry flambé with vanilla iced cream.

I nagged on my husband that he had too much red meat so he ordered chicken. It was wrapped with mozzarella and prosciutto in a white wine sauce. Sautéed rapini and herbed potatoes as a side. Pistachio gelato to end.

It was so pretentious and the other diners were stuffy! We were warned that the servers would try to push you out if you ordered a „ cheaper ” bottle of wine. Cheaper as in ~ 100 $ ! My husband said not to worry since he could put on the „ lost Slavic prince ” airs .... and so I laughed so much !!! I stuck out like a sore thumb !! How embarrassing !

It was nice to cross this off a „ to do ” list but not going back ! Middle Eastern food tonight ...

So I am still cleaning out the freezer!! I am having Lentil Soup for dinner. I have so much stuff to go thru I'm running out of ideas for pork tenderloin (that I still have 4 of) I think I'm sick of cooking. I was wondering has anyone tried those meal boxes? I thought it would be kind of fun to try even though it can be rather pricey.
