Did you call them? According to their agreement with IDOC, they are not supposed to charge. I would fight that and request a refund or have it put towards your account. That is almost 2 calls worth.

No, I don't sorry. I thought someone else mentioned it in this thread somewhere. Maybe just call and say that you were told if they are calling from an Illinois prison you are not supposed to be charged a fee to add money.

Jacksonville is due to switch on the 7th.

Jacksonville was supposed to switch as of 3/7. There appears to be some internal error with IDOC and phone lists were not transferred during the implementation. So frustrating! Nobody has answers, and nobody knows when we will be able to receive calls. Grr!

Just got my first call through Securus from my husband. With taxes the 30 minute call cost only $4.47. I wasn't charged a $7.95 load fee either, and I load my prepay online with Securus as well, plus mine is a cell phone he calls in on too.

Does anyone know if Vandalia Correctional Center in Illinois successfully made the switch over to Securus today? Has anyone gotten a phone call from this facility using Securus yet? Thanks

I hope you have received your call by now. My husband is in Vandalia. I got my call around 3pm yesterday. He told me very few men were getting through and it was due to something with their phone lists. He doesn't know if that is due to not being submitted on time, or whats the deal with their phone lists. He did call tonight and said more men were able to get through to their l/o's today, but there's still is a lot of guys who can't yet.

Remember how with Consolidated, they tell you the balance left on your prepaid account? Do they do that with Securus as well? I remember when my fiance was in county jail which used Securus and they didn't...which I HATED since I couldn't keep track of it..but just wondering if maybe things had changed!

No! I hate it plus u can go over I believe then have to pay (obviously) plus add money for upcoming phone calls. That's the only bad thing I see. I keep forgetting to check our balance....matter of fact, let me do that right now!

Okay maybe I am having an off day but I can't get into the account to add funds to the new system. I have the passcode and user id but they are asking for a password and I don't remember selecting one. I tired to friend my friend's name in the system as well and I can't. Has another else had this problem with the new telephone system?

My friend is at Dixon and he told me that the system is up and running so what is the deal?

On the main securus page, can you go to "lost password?" and see if you can't recover it that way? Or else, maybe you can call securus and talk to a live agent...maybe that person can help you.

About your friend, you couldn't find him on the IDOC page that says he's at Dixon? Sorry, I didn't understand what you meant by that part.

When my fiance was in county, they used Securus...so luckily I already had experience with it by the time they switched back. We haven't had any technical difficulties or anything...sorry you're experiencing them..

I went to IDOC and he is aat Dixon but I can't find him on the look up for the new telephone system. I have tried all day to get live chat or an operator but I guess Monday is not a great day because it is busy. I have the login but the tempoary password that they gave me to log in does not work. Agrr!!!

Weird, I'm sorry you're going through this unnecessary stress with the phone system. Hopefully you got through by now and I hope they've helped you!

I finally got it done! yippes!!!!

I had to speak with someone to get the paasword reset twice but we are good to go now. I told our friend to call me staring April 5th and to try every Friday after that until we got things working so I am sure that he will be surprised when the call actually goes through.
