25 pictures. If they buy a photo album from commissary to store them, they can have more. Ex-Federal inmates all say the limit is not always enforced. I would assume the worst given that there's new management and that they just had a contraband crackdown.

I had not heard of "special event day".

From browneyes1181 with her permission,

guess what i get to do tomorrow...i get to be dora the explorer...in a costume sewn by inmates...and be the companion of a mentally challenged person for 3 hrs. its called special event day and im told they do it yearly and have done it for many yrs. those of us who volunteered will be dressed as cartoon characters and there will be food, dancing, games, etc. im told that they love to come here for that day. im kinda excited about it.

it was pretty cool. about 20 people from the home came, along with about 3 staff members from there. most of them had a great time. they won prizes, dance, played games, ate hamburgers/hotd dogs/nachos/cupcakes, and got goody bags and a certificate upon leaving. im definitely doing it next year.

here are answers to the fmc questions:
1. u bring nothing. u will throw away or mail home what u wear to turn yourself in..underwear and all.
2. the monthly limit to spend on commissary is 360.00. unless ur on restriction, u can buy whatever is offered on the commissary list.
3. u will be issued uniforms, boots, undergarments. u will have to buy sneakers while u are here, if u so choose.
4. few days after its received. it depends on how soon the counselor gets it reviewed and lets u know if its approved or not.
5. inmate has to give u her register #, or look it up on bop website
6. depends solely and completely on the job she is assigned to
8. no limit
9. about 2 rulers in width and length. there are some larger, however, but not everyone has one
10. 3.15 for 15 minutes is how much mine are. but that may just be for long distance as all my calls are to another state
11. cost starts at $2 for 40 minutes of trulincs and increases from there. this includes reading and typing emails. u can use it multiple times a day. u just have to wait 30 minutes b/w each use...same for phone
12. yes, unless its crowded, then they'll start asking some visitors to leave so others can come in.
I believe she is mistaken about point 8, the number of pictures allowed. Figure on 25 unless they're in a photo album, unless there's something in writing from the BOP that says otherwise.

I just got some details about the workout area. This might be of interest to someone. The camp has
Quote:
jump ropes, dumbells (up to 35 pounds), weight plates up to 25 pounds to put on barbells, stationary bikes, treadmills, elliptical machines, and some other lil [little?] equipment.

Does the camp have its own mailroom or does the mail go to the FMC and get handled by people used to running an administrative facility?

How long does it take to process a visitor application these days?

Here's a totally random question.

Some years back, a 92-year-old started a ten-year sentence at the camp. Tussey did not approve and insisted that everyone treat her well.

What ever happened to her? I read about her someplace that didn't give her name, so I can't look her up.
