Does anyone know what the rules are on Drawings? Are we allowed to send them or not? Because my husband tried to write up his parole letter but it looked like crap with his writing hand being completely broken so he sent it to me to type up and send back to him so he could at least sign it. I did this but they are holding my mail and not delivering it because I also sent my daughter's drawing for him. What the heck is up with that!?
Drawings have been used to send in drugs. People mix drugs into wax, into ink, into pastels....so they are always suspicious of them. Doesn't matter what they look like, or who sends them.

Was it more than 3 sheets of paper? If so it is considered contraband because ADC now photocopies all mail and destroys the originals.
AD 17-23 Inmate Correspondence
All mail is opened in accordance with AR 860. Mail containing
contraband or the contents of which exceeds an envelope with
writing on one side and three sheets of 8 ½ x 11 inch (or smaller)
size paper with writing on one side will be returned to the sender
and the inmate to whom the correspondence was addressed and/or
was to receive the contraband will be required to pay for the return
postage or agree to the destruction of the mail and contraband.
Note that individual photographs will be considered one sheet of
paper, and nothing larger than 8 ½ x 11 inch will be copied. No
color photocopies will be made.
Did you put the drawing in a separate envelope from your daughter? Some places want the correspondence done separately because it is from multiple people.
