I believe they can make collect calls. I dont knw how much the cost is per call, But im sure it isnt the cheapest one. I would call the prison or on its specfic fourm and ask for thier phone provider and give them a call. Im sure they can give you an estimated price for each call. and for how long.
Good luck to you!

When you send him money to spend on comissionary he has a option to buy phone cards to call you.

Does anyone know whether or not inmates assigned here are likely to be designated to another facility that the Judge recommended? Inmate is a British citizen and just arrived at Adams a week after sentencing, but was hoping for Terminal Island, CA, near his father.

Thoughts?

My son has been at Adams County for over a year; we've visited him several times from CA - long trip! I've seen several requests for information from different people mostly on phones...
For phones - the service is provided by Securus (https://securustech.net); they have a website where you can deposit credit for your loved one to use to call the numbers on his approved list. Alternatively, you can deposit credit into his commissary account - Western Union is easy and fast - and he can buy a phone card to use. A 15 minute long distance call to CA is $3.93, a 15 minute cal to a local number (601 area code) is $2.62

If you care to write me, I'll answer what ever other questions I can.

Hello,

My brother was just transferred to this facility, I tried to look up info about this facility and all could see is that inmates were/are suffering from abuse, do you know if things have gotten better?

Default ACCC visitation

If you go to the CCA web page, there is visitation and other information there

http://www.cca.com/facilities/adams-...ctional-center

I've also posted my experiences for visiting and money transfer on Prisontalk forums - if you search for ACCC or Adams County in Prisontalk you'll most likely find them.

ACCC is simply a warehouse for federal inmates before they are deported - for PO and inmates, it's all about time management; there is either too much or not enough depending on what you're doing. There is nothing too bad nor anything too great to talk about. CCA is a private company making money from the Federal government housing inmates - they try to do that as cheaply as possible; investors need their dividends.
Personally I think private prisons are wrong - there are some pieces of government that should not be outsourced, I believe criminal justice is one such thing, including running the prisons.

You can send me a private email through Prisontalk if there are specific question you think I might be able to help you with.
