Default Black Mold--what can be done?

My Son was moved to Camp Branch and has had a headache every since. He is housed in the basement of the facility and says he can smell the mold. He has asked to be moved, but what can be done if they refuse?

Depending on how much you want to do and how much your son wants you to do, you can raise a stink. Start by contacting the local prison officials and asking that your son be moved. Tell them it is affecting his health and you are very afraid for his life. Tell them he has always been very deathly allergic to mold.

If they do not hel, you can write your representatives in your state (if he is in state prison) or in Washington (if he is federal, or even some state issues also). Tell them you are afraid for your sons life and health.

I have had some success working with my congressmen/women. But there is going to be a price for it. He will be known as a troublemaker. So, just pick your fights carefully and if you think this one is important enough, then fight it and fight it good.

Thank you for your advise. I'm going to talk with my Son before I take a stand if needed.

And if getting through to your congressman doesn't work, go to the local stations around there and tell them about the story. Raise a WHOLE world of hell.. that's disgusting, nasty and unsanitary.

Thank you so much. I will look into this. It's horable that we have to worry about such things, and even worse that we have to worry for our loved ones being labled trouble makers if they ask for help. My Son is not the type to complain and just wants to do his time in a healthy enviroment.
