Post Carepacks.com rule change effective March 1st 2014

If you have a loved one in the South Dakota prison system. You can send them a $20 pack of food, snacks or hygiene items each month. Effective in March, to be able to send care packs you must be on the inmates visiting list.

This is very bad news for the inmates that have no friends or family on the outside.

If someone is sending an inmate a package wouldn't they know them already? Why not just put them on the visitation list?

If your friend or family member has been convicted of a felony in his/her adult lifetime. They would NOT generally be allowed on the inmates visitor list.

While I was incarcerated for two years I was unable to see my wife. She has a minor drug offense on her record. So they would not allow her on my visit list.

Also if your friend of family member lives a thousand miles away and doesn't have the means to come and visit. They could still show they cared by sending a care pack.
