Default Bill 3508 For Oregon, reduction in sentences still 20% or gone to 30%

I have found that Kitzhaber signed the bill in 2009. Is the reduction in sentences still 20% or have they gone to 30%?

Thank you

The law was based on Ballot Measure 57 ( https://ballotpedia.org/Oregon_Crimi...asure_57_(2008) )

HB 3508 suspended M57 until Jan 1, 2012. (http://gov.oregonlive.com/bill/2009/HB3508/)

So far as I know, neither M57, nor HB 3508 had anything to do with reducing sentences. M57 was suspended for a couple of years due to budget constraints, but that just meant people weren't being tried under the mandatory sentencing structure of the bill, not that there was any decrease in time (that I'm aware of).

If anyone has better information, I'm all ears. I've never heard of HB 3508 until just now, so my information is just what I gleaned in a brief internet search.

First link, trying again: https://ballotpedia.org/Oregon_Crimi...sure_57_(2008))

Thanks for the article. The stats in it are great. But then, when has recidivism rate had anything at all to do with laws and prison time?

To be fair, Kitzhaber was really trying to go with data/results based decisions when it came to DOC.
