Default No visits Ft Dix prison for at least a week, punishing the camp too?!

So today we spoke to my father (he's in the Camp section of Fort Dix), and he said someone in prison got caught, so they are not allowing visitations for at least a week, possibly two for everyone, including Camp.

Is there any reason they are also punishing Camp, not just the Prison itself? Is it a common practice even if there is a satellite camp next to prison to apply the same type of punishment?

It depends on each individual warden, so the answer reverts to that specific person, and the circumstances of each case. Some wardens are much more likely to overuse lockdowns as a means to show everyone who is in charge than others are.

A common justification is to bring peer pressure on whoever caused the incident that led to the lockdown, but that is illogical if that prisoner is in a completely different prison. The real answer is "because they can".

Dix has some significant staffing issues right now. By shutting down visiting, the warden can reallocate staff to other, more critical assignments.

Default FCI Ft Dix counselors

So my husbands counselor made a pass at him and since he didn't give her what she wanted has opted to interfere with his visits. Just myself and our children come. I have 2 children from before we met but they only know him as their father now they are making it an issue for them to come on the visits. This place is horrible! Anyway I wanted to know if anyone knew if the date of release listed on the BOP website is the date for when they go to the Half Way House or when they go on probation?

The date shown on the inmate locator is the first day of his supervised release sentence. If he is sent to "community corrections", a half way house and/or home confinement, that happens before the "end of sentence" date, maximum of one year, but his unit team will decide the actual amount of time. He will still be in bop custody, even while living at home, until his release date.

Default Thank goodness

That is good to know. As its getting closer to his release date things are getting more and more difficult at Ft. Dix. Just horrible counselors on staff.
