There could be a good reason for it. They could be on lockdown or the phones could be down. I would call the facility and ask.

You can call, use trick questions, if they won't tell you. Like whats the visiting hours in the shu unit, or say I hear he's in shu can you tell me when I can visit? that will tell you at least if he's in lock up. Sometimes they won't say anything so you have to think outside the box

I just heard from my pen pal in LCF I don't think there was a problem. He would have told me. The only thing that has changed is the accessibility of the Jpay machine. Now they only have two 15 minutes on the machine.

Yep they changed that rule at pretty much all prisons in Michigan. Gives everyone a chance to use it since they can get the tablet now. Some guys still got them because they think they have power or whatever they call it.

My son died at Lakeland in Jan he was 21 yrs old. They say he overdosed on fentanyl. His autopsy showed an excessive amount in his blood. There was no needle found and no other history of substance abuse. Someone had threatened my son when he refused to pick up drugs thrown over the fence. The person they named of supplying the fentanyl is facing Life on drug charges but not my son's death. Someone in that prison put that needle in his vein. Noone wants to be a snitch but my boy was a baby. He could of rehabilitate and been anything he wanted to be. Plz talk to your family on a visit and if any information is given I would never give a name. We believe the DOA gang forced the fentanyl killing my baby. He died on his brothers 17 birthday. Lakeland is getting worse on drug cases I have researched.
