My husband is still in western reception in St Joe to be transferred to ??? a level 4 place is all I know. I'm hoping for Cameron..its about as close as we can get...my luck he'll go to Bonne Terre...we shall see

Ram,
Hello to you in Unionville! As a former resident of Schuyler county I know right where you are! I now live close to the Bootheel and really miss the rolling hills of Northeast Mo!

Thank you, Thank you Praying. I was tickled to know that someone had heard of Unionville. Schuyler County is a beautiful place and the rolling hills up here are captivating in just about any season...I think the winter is the best when the bare trees are covered in ice and the land is covered in snow and the whole thing sparkles for as far as you can see.....anyway I've heard the Bootheel is beautiful in its own right...unfortunately I've only seen it once, quickly driving thru.
I'm keeping good thoughts for you and yours
Enjoy your day

I know where Unionville is, I'm from St. Joe., my husband went to Cameron first, then to Bowling Green. Cameron was closer but Bowling Green was calmer and it was easier to visit. Cameron was like a zoo, of course that was a few years ago.

I wave everyday whether anybody can see me or not, when I see them on the bus, or when I see the road crews. I go out of my way to be nice. I know they are somebodies husband, son or friend. I'll give a second wave when I go by tomorrow just for you...

Ram63565,

I too miss Northeast MO winters, especially the SNOWS!!! We rearely get much snow here in the Bootheel! Yes, there are pretty areas, like Mingo and several beautiful state parks, BUT it isn't home, even though we haven't lived in the area for ten years, it's still home to me! We're hoping to eventually get back up in that area! Enjoy your summer!!

We will certainly try, and enjoy yours too!!
If you do get back up this way you should try to get to the Unionville area and check out Lake Thunderhead. Nice big lake for boating, golf course and a combination of big homes mixed in with some lots that have not been developed while others keep their lots just for camping...there are quite a few people who have "summer homes" there.
Personally I think its a little hot here for a vacation home but I guess compared to the southwest of the country its a nice change.
Good thoughts for you and yours!!!

We actually have friends from Schuyler County who own lots at Lake Thunderhead, so we've camped there, been several years, but even then it was a beautiful place!

Getting ready to for a week in Vegas!!! So ready for a "temporary" break from reality!!

Atchison, Kansas Just over the bridge from Mo. Comes in handy for us cigarette smokers and for car gas. From you st. joe people, you probably know us for (you older ones, The Hilltop), and the rest, The Amelia Earheadt Celebration. KC, you probably know us for Nell Hills, trendy store ran by Mary Carol Garritty, who once in her wisdom at 18 took me to a car wash, stood me by the car and sprayed me to sober up before i went home. God help us, she's a very well known businesswoman now and been in magazines. Makes me giggle. Marian

We always called Missouri Western State University ( MOJO Tech)....joked about how anybody could get in there.....hahahha.....

Debby, that's a drive. My gosh. I thought when I lived with my parents in Pleasant Hope that it was a drive to go to the south side of Springfield.

Lived in Missouri for 20 years but live in the Rockies now. Between my man and myself I think we have covered the whole state living in this place and that...the funny thing is both of us were from different states to begin with and met up in Missouri and now we are trying like heck to get out. No offense to you all.
