Default Questions about release date

My BF's court hearing was the September 30th and he was sentenced to 3 years, but if he is good he can burn that in half making it 18 months.

Anyways, I'm wondering when they will give him a release date? Will it be after all the paperwork is filed and they transfer him to his permanent location or will it be WAY down the road after all of that is said and done? And will it be 18 months from the time he was incarcerated (Sept 16) or from (sept 30). Also, since it is in his conditions that as long as he doesn't get into trouble, he will be out in 18 months, will his release date reflect the 18 months or the 3 years?

Hi there from my experience he should have a mrd mandatory release date once he is sentenced. It should show three years then every month it comes back 10-12 days good time every month.

What does mrd stand for?
So it will like...count backwards from his 3 year sentence down to his 18 month one?

Every state is different in how they figure good time, in the % of time to be served before parole eligibility etc etc. To that end, I have moved your thread to the WV sub-forum for West Virginia Parole, Probation & Release
