Default Will he get a check from Job and Family Services when released?

So my boyfriend who is in prison just told me about him being able to get a check from job and family services when he's released. He said someone told him he has to go to job and family services before 72 hours of being released. I don't know how true this is but I'd like to find out the info for him.

I'm not familiar with Ohio, but I don't think any state agency gives inmates a check upon release (except gate money from the facility or balance of commissary account). The only thing I am aware of is that he may qualify for food stamps depending on your state's food stamp rules.

That sounds like the BS that has gone around that they can go to the SSA and get a check cut that day. Tell him if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

It's not true. There are tons of stories. College funds for ex inmates etc. Maybe in extenuating circumstances jfs will do something but I've never heard of anyone getting anything.
