I am The Q . I was a Nevada State Corrections officer. If there are any questions about what is happening in the NDOC or want to know anything else that is going on well I will see what I can do.

This is The Q. Schomig is no longer at HDSP, thank the big guy. He is at SDCC.All I will say is that my contacts are at HDSP and SDCC as well as other places in the land of NDOC. Pass on the word that Jackie C is not an inmates friend. She may come across that way at times.

Well, Q, it would appear that you are willing to share some information that could be highly beneficial to our Nevada members....excellent! We have many here who are either past or present correctional employees. Personally, I have found most of their contributions to be insightful, and feel that there is much to be gained by examining the view from each others' side of the fence.

Please take a moment to peruse the House Rules here at PTO...it is "required reading" for all new members:

Hi Q... I saw an article on benefits for ex-offenders in NC stating that once released offenders are able to receive money, food stamps, vocational training and grants from the social security office. I was wondering if the same is true for a parolee in Nevada? If so could you point me in the right direction for these benefits so that I can help my loved one upon released?

Hi Q

What can you tell me about SDCC? Anything really. I am out of state and have a loved one there. BTW what's this about a guy named Schomig that seems not well liked and now HE is at SDCC?

Also, I asked this on another board tonite but since you seem to be in the know I will ask you, when mail comes in at SDCC, ie the po box, how long from actual receipt does it take to actually get to an inmate? Does it really take a long time because everyone's stuff has to be read for content? I know it seems like a silly question but all my concept of prison is what I see on tv.

Thanks

Hi Q
My loved one is incarcerated at SDCC and I was wondering what you could tell us about the prison/staff that would put us on guard and help our men?
That above question is one I have wondered about too... How long does it take our loved one to receive a letter/card once it arrives at the prison?
Why do our men have to buy their own bedding and why isn't there a list of stores to buy from instead of just the one? I think there may be better prices if they had some competition... it is ridiculous what families of the incarcerated have to pay to make our men semi-comfortable!!
Anything you could tell us would be most welcomed!
Thank you for joining our forum!
Welcome!!

Is there a way to do an online search for inmates in the Southern Nevada Detention Center? Also, to find out what he is being held for? I think a friend of mine is being taken for a ride...

You can search here under inmate search http://www.doc.nv.gov/ but there is no way to see the charges.

[b]Hello , My name Lynn and I am new to this site. I am very familiar with the legal aspect of things considering I am a criminal justice student. My question to you Q, is this:

Why does it take so long for High Desert State Prison to approve or deny people for visitation?
I could understand people that have a background . But I have no criminal history at all and no parking tickets etc. I've submitted two applications and have yET to hear anything back on it and neithr has my little brother(the inmate)

I also have another question, my boyfriend is also incarcerated with my little brother so I've been sending letters to my boyfriend and include my letter to my little brother because somehow my brother has not been getting his letters that was sending him, a inmate with the same last name just all of the sudden getting them and decided to write me letters and even had the nerve to call me the other day. I didn't accept the phone call but the point is, what is going on? My little brother wrote me and was all sad because he thinks I stopped writing him and is sadi can tell because he never writes me 3 sentences and says peace homie. He's upset and I'm not sure what to do about it. I have the inmates info that has been receiving my little brothers mail. He stated that the corrections officer was informed that it isn't his mail yet refused to take it from the inmate . I dont know if I believe that

Your response is kind of off topic as opposed to what I was asking .

Fuzzylynn, I think judiwoo meant that you can look up the inmate with the same last as your brother. At least that's how I took it

Are you putting your brother's DOC number on the envelope?
