My cousin got busted for being a goof (although he's 24, I doubt he actually is attracted to kids, but just has a weird way of getting off). He got sentenced to 1 year in CECC, Lindsay jail in Ontario. Is there anyway I can find information about how he is doing? I honestly have no idea what it would be like for him in there, but it can't be easy. I want to find out if he's doing okay, do I need to contact him/his family?
Is there anything I can do to make the guys time easier? I doubt he needs money. I mean sure he's a perv but he's a good person and I'm sad he ruined his life.
Hi cuz-b. If he's in Lindsay you can write and/or ask him to phone you - which would be collect, and quite expensive. You can also visit him there, though visits in provincial jails are generally behind glass and are often cancelled due to lockdowns. Letters are the easiest and work well.
A year is not long - he actually did well on the sentencing. He will have struggles once he gets out, though - he may have probation but also other challenges, such as the SO registry. There are some good support groups in Toronto I can say more about if that's of interest once he's out.
