Oklahoma Prison and Jail Specific DiscussionsThis forum covers topics & discussions specific to Jails and Prisons located throughout the State of Oklahoma.
I am not sure how accurate any of the info on Sayre is now on here, as it used to be a private prison that housed only inmates from California. California decided to bring all their inmates home and the prison shut down and was vacant. That all changed this summer when the OK DOC decided to lease the prison from the private company and run it themselves. Maybe some of the info posted could be updated by the mods on the board? That way it might help the new people out.
My guy is at North Fork in Sayre Ok We've never meet face to face but he is sending visit forms today. Anyone else have loved ones there??
You've never met your boyfriend face to face or just not seen him since he went to prison? My son is about to go there for the second time and there wouldn't have been a second time if it weren't for that prison. I read someone said get there early and I agree because the first trip I made to Sayre from Moore, OK was a waste of time because we waited 3 hours and had to turn around and go home because visitation ended. I think it may have slightly improved with the changes where they go by odd numbers have visitation one day then even numbers have visitation on one day. My cousin is there also and has been there for years. One more thing luckily I had pink on the next time I visited (when I actually got to see my son) because they have a VERY strict dress code they go by for visitors and almost every color is on it. Here's some dress code things I remember: you cant wear tank tops or sleeveless shirts, no khaki, gray, red, blue, or periwinkle, no medical scrubs, no sweats or leggings or tight jeans, no shorts, no dresses or skirts. Visitation in the summer sucks because you basically have to wear a long sleeve turtleneck and slacks lol. Oh and women can't wear jeans I think that about covers it, but they strictly enforce the dress code so if you are unsure about wearing something bring an extra set of clothes and get there very early that's my advice.
