You won't have to worry about me coming...we went to Pensacola yesterday (2 hour drive) and it took a tank and a half of gas because we had the bright idea of towing our goft cart for the kids to play on... I would have to rob a bank or something to have enough for gas to go up there...much less have enough for fun! I wonder how long it would take me to drive that goft cart? It gets excellent mileage!

I live down here in a little dinky town (Level Plains) right outside Fort Rucker...near Enterprise...35 miles from Dothan.

We love the golf cart and the kids enjoy it. We live in the country and take it down the back roads loaded with children every weekend! I don't think I need to get on the interstate with it though... I might run some truckers off the road...my husband thinks he is Tim the Tool Man ..if you know what I mean.

Well I checked on Visionland prices and that's a JOKE.It's two parks right together,so you can buy tickets for one or both. The price for one park is like 24.95 a peice or 29.95 for both.I just can't see that price even if we all were really loaded.Children under 48 inches are a little cheaper but not cheap enough.Does anybody know of any state parks or anything to that affect in the Birmingham area?I'll be checking on the net to see what I can find!!Or does anybody have any ideas for something that's not outrageously priced?

Pelham...LOL That sounds sooo familiar to me but, for some reason...I'm having ANOTHER blonde moment!!

Birmingham Zoo is a great place...I personally love it...like I said earlier (or at least I *think* I said it) it doesn't really matter to me when or where we have it...I'm just ready for some "fun" for a change.

Lightbulb Another Idea

Hi All,
I've been reading the posts to this suggestion for the last couple of days and have an alternative idea....I live near Dothan, AL, and they have at least two regular parks that I know of and a water park, lots of places to stay if you choose to do so, and it would be convenient for those in south AL, southwest GA, and NW FL. Fire-Rain, you're in Enterprise area, right? What do you think ? I think maybe get-to-gethers in sections of AL would be a lot better for many because of gas prices, etc. At least the gas around here isn't $2.45 /gal. which is what I paid near Lake City, FL, recently while traveling further east for a job interview. What do you think ? I would love to meet you all....

Dothan is a nice place...but, it is a little too far for me travel considering gas prices (and my gas guzzler) and well, being jobless. Hopefully we can figure out something "midway" for all of us so, we could all G2G...

Hey...Taffy.. It is good to see someone from down in my neck of the woods! It seems like most of the members are from north Alabama. It would be good to have a meeting place down this way...but I think most members will have a hard time coming down here...like we may have a hard time going up there. The only way I would get to go is if a certain lady takes pity on me and gives me a ride...if they plan it for the middle of May!

Lake City huh? My son use to live there and worked at the Lake City Medical Center!

OK let's find this out. What is a good mid point for everybody?I'm in Tallapoosa County(Alex City) which is about middle ways either way I go.I can be in Dothan in about 3 hours or I can be in say Cullman in about 3 hrs.So like I said I'm in the middle either way!!!We don't want anybody to have to travel 3 hours when somebody else only has to drive 30 mins.
