K building used to be housed for Mental patients as well as anyone who was diabetic or taking medications. It was known as the Medical Camp

He doesn't mean that anything is majorly wrong with him, just that he needs some extra care because of medications.

HOWEVER this COULD have changed in the past year or so - I will try and look into it and see.

Then they must be using K building as a lock down building for close custody. when he gets A or B custody he will move to a better building.

It could be lock down etc. You can call the prison and check with them and they should be able to tell you - ask for the wardens offiec for his Unit

On Sundays do the inmates have a Church service in c custody 29 unit.
What if any programs do they have. Why is the drug war not over?

Inmates do not have church service for C custody and no programs are available for them either.

For him to have any oppotunities he needs to be B custody or A custody.

The drug war will never be over with untill: 1) we protect our borders into this country that are importing all of the drugs and 2)untill we begin to treat those who have addictions instead of locking them up and throwing away the key untill they get out 5-10 years later with no rehabilitation.

Default Waste of time for inmates

Johothan, I guess i will get this sooner or later. However it just looks like a lotof peoples lives are just wasted. I have alway thought this great country of mine was the greatest gift anyone could hand down to younger generations. But at 55 my heart is heavy and reality is sinking in.
If we can seen a man to the moon and make toilets flush backwards, give a poor or disable housing..have national programs to Quit Smoking why can we not have something to rehab the addict in what ever custody.

My son plead guilty for uttering forgery 2001 he got 8 years and court order to go to A&D. He did not get A&D he went to work at a court house on a work program for 46 months no RVR no trouble. Got got on early release..finished that and went on probation. Violated his probation for drug use and went back probation violation with a court order to do the A&D. Now they say class c No A&D. He has never got a RVR. And never got A&D.

Is this program A&D any good.

There is something missing here

My son is not a

Granny2, All of Parchman is on a lockdown and noone can make phone calls.

As for the A&D program, they sit in a room all day and read out of a book. Nothing else - not a good program at all.

It is very disheartening to see and hear.

I wish there was something I could tell you that you could do, or someone to call. However when he is C custody - he really has no options. C custody is ONE step away from Unit 32. So if he is to leave 29 - he would be sent to Unit 32. That is the WORST place he could go right now with everything going on there.

Tell him to keep his head up etc. One thing you might could do that would help him is to send books. He can receive 3 per month that are softback and not hard cover, no cd's or tapes in the books etc. You can order them through Books a Million, Amazon.com, etc. online - or go to book stores and have THEm ship the books.

You must pay for it to be shipped through the bookstore or publisher, if you send it they will send the books back.

Good advice Jonathan!! Can they also receive "puzzle books" subscription in C Custody there?? I know the Sudako puzzles books some really like and wondering if he can get that as well.

granny 2.. Please tell him to try and be as patient as he can be and SOON MAYBE he can get moved.. I hope so anyway!! BLESS YOU!!

I hope everything is getting better. I'm really worried about what is going on everywhere now. The new's here last night stated an inmate at parchman had commented suicide and it was under investigation. Its really scary.

Oh Yes... Rain and cooling off some is such a blessing in this heat to our love one's who are inside. I hope they were able to rest well last night and be a little more "comfortable" from all the heat.

darnellKim is so right. Not only should we pray for our love ones but the guards and everyone who is in contact with our love ones. I must admit I "used" to do this but lately have failed to do so. Thanks for reminding me "darnellkim". Sometimes we need reminding.

One more thing we can do. As we worry each day about our love one we can try and help others. When we help others someone seems to be sent to help our love ones in some way. Maybe it is meant for some one else to be able to help or reach our love ones and not us all the time. Just be there if some one needs you and when we open our eyes we see a vision we have never seen before and that is MANY out there suffering in and out of the system.

granny2.. This has happened to so many... He will be okay.. It is hard to try and imagine every day what is happening. You will drive yourself crazy. We have to just trust and wait to hear good news, and small blessings.

Take care.. No immediate solutions to many of our probelms and concerns but just having people who really "care" seems to relieve this burden a little.

Default State Representative Mississippi

Thank You all for you great support. Some times just knowing that others can feel your anxiety lets you know all have not turned hard to human kind. Some times it seems the world has turned from any form of kindness.

Can anyone help me find the name and address of the State Representatives for Rankin County...Flowood area. Or one that might read my letter from thaat area. Not to send a bad letter just a letter about work centers and the need for them.
