How long did your LO spend in reception?

I thought they (DOC) shaved it when they got there.. Idk. It's okay, I still think he's looks hot when it looks like he's been in chemo.

I'm sure some of them shave their heads, but not all. My baby didn't shave his, but the guy who did my tattoos did. I dont think I could even imagine him with a shaved head. But even if he had, it would have grown back by the time he got out.

I heard the same that usually reception is 2-3 weeks for guys waiting to go to their mother prison. I wish that was the case for my bf but he's been there a little over 2 months now. He's at stateville reception waiting for boot camp. Originally the wait for boot camp was 90-120 days but now they changed it to 150 days and then he does 90-120 days at boot camp. Its been hell. He only gets one write out a month and can only make calls on mondays. He gets visits after 61 days. I was planning on going today but stateville is on lockdown so no visits. They think the lockdown might last 2 weeks. I just can't wait for all of this to be over. He should be home by february the latest!

Mine was in SCDC kirkland for 6 days...now he is on a yard!! Not his first ride so maybe thats why it didnt take to long

They don't shave ur head if u don't want to...my bf been at stateville reception 5 months cuz of parole violation...they don't get visits till after 61 days n calls are minimal only Sundays for around ten minutes....n mail is extremely slow::.but sounds like ur guys I getting moved soon! That's good cuz stateville is a hell hole

My LO stated that they shaved his head and took his picture.. No options, but he's at GDCP in Jackson, GA. Can't wait for my first vist... Even though it's gunna be a long time from now!

I sure hope you ladies are right about him getting moved soon!! Today is his birthday =( His first birthday ever being away from home, so I can't even imagine what he's going through. Part of me hopes/wishes/prays he doesn't know it's his birthday so that way he won't be even more depressed! He's officially been gone a week..so I'm crossing my fingers that he'll be moved by this weekend, like purplegirl1008 predicted. epasil, you got calls? Is it because your bf was only staying at stateville and not being moved to a prison? Sunday came and went and no phone calls. I wonder if you only get phone calls if the inmate is there for a PV or waiting for boot camp, since they're in there for a longer amt of time compared to those waiting for a prison.

You might be able to post in the Stateville part and get more answers about that but as far as I thought they didn't get calls while in reception and if they did it was 1 ten minute call. But I am not 100% on that. I didn't even bother to write Jesse there I waited til he got to his permanent prison to send a letter. Idk much about Stateville but what I do know is yes it's a hellhole and they are locked down 23 a day just like where Jesse's at now.

Here in ny they make the inmates get their heads shaved unless they can prove their religion.

Well my bf is with other incoming reception inmates...he's being held there for his parole violation but still has to deal with the stupid reception routine! Make sure u have money on ur consolidated! Pm me if u need help setting it up...but my bf didn't get calls till like a month later or three weeks can't remember n they only get 10--30 minutes calls....it hey don't get to buy anything so if he hasn't mailed u is probably cuz he can't...didn't have paper or pen from county.....there locked up 24/7 n one shower a week....it's he'll!

Jesse told me last night that it took like a month or so to get his pin # to be able to call so yeah. Also his list has to be approved. I've explained as much to blah as I can right now! IL DOC is a pain!

His first.bid it took.about a week.. this time.it took 1½-2weeks. They can write u n u.can write back while they.n.rdc

mine was in county for about 3 weeks and he is not in rgc and has been there for about 3 weeks. Hes in for a misdemeanor violation, which the charge dui is being ran concurrent next week at court with what he has already served... i called parole board today and they said that his case has not even yet been sent to them... do you know why or how long this can take on just a violation???!

I finally got my answer!! He was there for 12 days! Just got the call that he's now transferred..It doesn't sound like a lot, I know, and I'm sorry for you who had to do without anything for a heck of a lot longer, but ohhhh man, each day just kept dragging and dragging. It's a 4 hour drive from us, but mehhhhh, I loooooooove him!

He tells me it's hard to not go crazy...everytime he calls me he asks for the time he don't know what time it I's! He don't see the sun in weeks they shower once a week...hard to keep sane!
