Huttonsville isn't all that bad. it's actually a lower security level prison than Mount Olive, the state prison. Don't worry it will be fine, but I can tell you honestly that the WVDOC gets in NO HURRY about anything!!

You and your loved one are in my prayers.

Much Love,
~Amber

I agree with worleysgirl. The "Hut" isn't that bad of a place; in fact, in fact a lot of inmates try to get transferred there. It's been my experience that it takes 24-72 hours for an inmate to be "processed" and to be able to call home. If there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. Welcome to PTO and the West Virginia forum.

Welcome to PTO! My Sweetie is in federal here in WV and we both live here too! My Sweetie's cousin was moved to Huttonsville from Mount Olive...he is doing well. We haven't heard of anything too bad that goes on there.

Hope you hear from him soon.

Hugs, Denise

My Husband is at Huttonsville, and that is his perferred prison. Mount Olive is much worse than Huttonsville in my opinion. I think the staff there are much nicer, and visits are nicer there too... My husband was at Huttonsville one other time and did about 8 years, and he's back down there, and I told him it was like a family reunion when he went back, but a sad way to be. I think your loved one will do well there! If you have anyquestions, don't hesitate to ask us..

The West Virginia Regional Jail Authority does have an online inmate locator with the inmates pictures that you can access. However, the WV DOC does not and you would not be able to see pictures of inmates at Huttonsville or at any of the prison facilities.

The address for Huttonsville is:

P.O. Box 1
Huttonsville, WV 26273

If you do not know his DOC # you can try to find it on this link:

www.vinelink.com

Good luck!

Default Is the inmates DOC their offender number

Is the DOC the offender number. My baby daddy is currently incarcerated in the Huttonsville Corectional Center and even though we haven't talked in years I would like to write him a letter and let him know how our daughter is doing and possibly send him a picture of her. I got the mailing address. and his information. DOC number. but i looked up how to write an inmate at that jail a letter and it said you need the inmates name and offender number then the address of the jail for the mailing address. When i would write him in the jails here in Virginia I never put an offender number or anything like that and he would still get my letters but I dont know how the jails in West Virginia work.
