Default Compassionate Release timeline?

I have just filed a CMR for my boyfriend in Florida. He was diagnosed with lung cancer that metastisized to his brain. He only has 6 months left of his sentence. He just did over 12 years. It seems to be progressing quickly. After the dr. evaluates him, it goes to a board hearing where we are allowed to speak. Does anyone know the time frame for this process? We are praying that he gets to leave prison, even if it's just for a short time.

CONWIFE. I have moved your post to its own thread, in Florida, because these processes tend to be state-specific.

Good luck!

I'm sorry to say, I've not heard of too many of these.

Several have went as they did and he was home a couple months. A few passed before they got through the red tape.

Conwife, STAY ON IT. I don't have to tell you to be very professional about it. I'd be calling about twice a week. If one person doesn't have an answer ask them who does, or move up the line.

Try xolady, I think she did this and was successful. The only other thing I know about CMR is that it is hindered by the parole board, sorry meant handled, subject to when they meet. Call them they have a packet they can send. That said, I would still document the other things they will look for in a regular parole. Home plan, family and friends support etc. You may want his medical records reviewed by an outside Dr. Good luck.
