Default FC1 can not locate

Inmate locator says he is at FC1, he has been since Nov. when I spoke with him Monday he said he was having a hard time breathing. I havenít heard from him. When I try and call FC1 the operator says she can not see him in her system. She transfers me to the locator service. They tell me all they can say is he is in the care of FC1.
Iím worried something serious has happened but not sure how I can find out. Operator at FC1 says she doesnít know which caseworker to transfer me to since she can not find him on the computer. I left a message for the Chaplin, emailed the facility and Bureau of Prisons.
Any advice is welcome, Iím worried...

Welcome to Prison Talk and the federal forums. The bop will never admit that any of their inmates is being treated at a hospital outside the prison walls, they consider it to be an escape risk. If that's what is happening, he will definitely receive much better medical care than he could get inside of any bop prison. The bop will also not allow the hospital to say he is a patient in their hospital, thus ignoring the HIPAA laws.

Two other possibilities are a prison lockdown, or he could have gotten into trouble and he is now in the punishment cells in the secure housing unit, SHU. They get only one short phone call every month, so the only way to contact them is through US Post Office mail, or visits.

If you do get to speak to the Chaplain or his counselor, ask them to do a welfare check so you will know that he is OK.

If you aren't able to talk to anyone on the phone, then send a letter.
