I'm curious what your new approval paperwork looked like? My husband received something from Vera recently but he described it and said it didn't have nearly the same amount of information requests on it as the old form, just my contact info and whether we would prefer weekends or weekdays. Does this sound familiar?

Hi ladies--

I have a bedding question. What are the rules are sheets?

I'm asking because we're still in the process of approval but I'm moving out of state in two weeks. In the process of cleaning I found a brand-new set in my closet and I considered hanging on to them for the visit. But, they're blue and I'm thinking that's not going to fly.

Thanks!

Has anyone had success appealing a FV denial?

We were denied based on:

(1) Family visits shall not be permitted for inmates convicted of a violent offense involving a minor or family member or any sex offense, which includes but is not limited to the following Penal Code sections: 187 (when the victim is a family member as defined in Section 3000 or minor); 192 (when the victim is a family member or minor); 243.4; 261; 261.5, 262; 264.1; 266c; 266j; 273a; 273d; 273.5; 273.6; 285; 286; 288; 288a; 288.2; 288.5; 289; 289.5; 311.1; 311.2; 311.3; 311.4; 313.1; 314; or 647.6.

We're not asking for them to waive Title 15, only for the CCI to consider the facts of his case. His victim was 17, my husband was 19. We were hoping to appeal based on their proximity in age, the fact that the victim's age did not impact his sentencing and he has no other criminal history.

He's been down almost 14 years, has no write-ups for four years, is employed and participating in all available programs.

My husband stated that he has seen successful appeals for the same type of denial. Trying to be realistic, but we're not ready to give up. Any advice is welcome.

Has anyone dealt with the new family visiting coordinator Mr. Buck? He doesn't seem to be for family visits. Really rude and inconsiderate!

Hello, I am trying to find out how the family visiting process work. My husband requested the paperwork from the family visiting coordinator, he received it and completed. He has sent it back to the coordinator as well. What is the process after that as this is our first time for the approval process? I'm wondering if it goes to the counselor next as I thought the counselor was the first person it should have been sent back to. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Default marriage packet process

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a date once your packet has been reviewed & signed by your loved ones counselor once it goes back to marriage coordinator. His counselor has had our marriage packet for 2 weeks now. Can't get ahold of the new marriage coordinator Angelica. I think she's been on vacation for the last 2 weeks. Any information is much appreciated.

Dies anyone have any updated information regarding family visits that have recently been on a visit or approved? I can tell KVSP diesnt have a lot of active threads, but would like some info if possible. Such as how do you order food, is there any activities for kids, how strict are they about clothing to wear inside, what days are visits given out, who is the family visitor coordinator, etc?

Thank you
