Lightbulb The Wish Bottle

Since I know we are always searching for ways to "connect" with our loved ones.....I thought I'd share one small thing I do.

I remember hearing about a "Wish Box"....and I had a beautiful glass bottle, covered in coiled wire and beads, that I had been trying to find a use for. So, why not a "Wish Bottle"?

A few times a week, I will find myself thinking of something I love to do, and look forward to experiencing with Shawn in the future.....be it walking in the moonlight, taking in an exhibit at RISD museum...even grocery shopping for the perfect snack

I write the thought (just a line or two) on a little piece of paper, date it (including the year), and drop it in the bottle. Sometimes, I'll write it twice, and send one to him. Every now and then, he sends me "one for the bottle"

Some of my "wishes" have included:

"I wish you were coming to Ellen's baby shower with me this afternoon...you'd see how close my friends and I really are..."

"Stay in bed all day, read the Sunday paper and do the crossword together...."

"Meet your father, and tell him how much you mean to me...face to face...."

I keep the bottle on my desk, so a "wish" is never far from my mind...Not sure what I'll do when it's full! LOL!

LOL---It was 57 here today! This weather is NUTS!

I ran to a dozen stores last night, in search of "ice melt", so the mailman wouldn't skip my house....which is the one with the sidewalk skating rink I knew Shawn's sweatshirt should be arriving any day, and couldn't bear to think of it sitting, detained (lol), on the post office shelf because of Mother Nature.

50 lbs of rock salt later...yes, FIFTY pounds....nothing, nada, zippo.....it didn't even make a DENT! ACK!

And then today, it all melted away! All except for the lovely white salt stains, that is....LMAO!

Oh yeah, and I got the sweatshirt today....I may never take it off! LOL!

You have started a trend! People will come to our homes and each one will have a bottle!! I am going to start mine tonight!! I am also gonna ask Sonny for a shirt or something! Here in Tucson I would never where a sweat shirt (to warm, I'm in a tank today!) but maybe he has a T-Shirt!! I'll send you a little warmth!! I've had enough!
