chorn,

i don't know much about westville because my husband is in pendleton, but i did have a friend who was in westville, i do know they allow you to visit every 10 days if you are on the approved visitation list,a nd as for commisary, i am not really sure what you are wanting to know, but if you want to send your son money to receive commisary you will have to send him a POSTAL money order with is name and DOC number on it, then they will credit it to his books and he will be able to purchase commisary, that is about all i know, hope this is some what helpfull.

robin

p.s. here is the link to the westville site which might be able to help you out some... good luck

Chorn-

My girlfriend's man is in Westville. It is kind of a rough place. The majority of it is open dorms...which can be troublesome. robin_n_jim is right about visits being every 10 days. Your son will have to send you a visitation application and then you will have to be approved. Mail takes forever to get in and out of there. My fiance' is in Miami Correctional Facility on the Grisom Air Force Base...that places seems like the Holiday Inn compared to Westville. Good luck with everything and we are all here for you!

My husband is in the prison in Carlisle Indiana. He has been there going on 10 years.I met him about 5 years ago started out writing him as penpals and got to know the REAL person not anything matieral..Anyway I think the prison system in Indiana stinks!!! It seems like they do alot of things NOT to have to do anything...And they are paid by the taxpayers..Anyway thats another topic...I married my husband on October 28th 2003 at the prison and now I am just waiting to bring him home.He is the best thing in my life my best friend and I am glad and very blessed everyday to have him and our love.....

Kendrick, Thank you so much!! I am so excited and nervous if that makes any sense!! It sure has been a long 18 months. I am just ready to get our lives back together. How much long do you have before your loved one will be home? I hope that it is not long! Time is the hardest thing to deal with!!

And to you Jcullen CONGRATS!! ALL THE WAY GIRL!! I don't know much about that prison but i totally agree with you!! Hopefully you two will be united SOON!! I wish the best of luck to you!!

~Melissa~

melissa1977-

My fiance' will be home in August of 2004. Really, it is not that long at all, but you obviously know how much it hurts to not have the man you love with you. I would be nervous and excited, too!! I know everything will turn out for the best with you! Don't forget about us here! Take care!

prisonbabysiter-

Are you saying that MCF is a rough place? Can you give me the low down on the good, bad, and the other stuff there? I just want to make sure that my fiance' doesn't get any good time taken from him. I am not really worried about him getting hurt because he is a heck of a fighter, but I would like to make sure he comes home in one piece and on time.
Thanks!

kendrick

I'm sorry to keep asking you so many ?'s I know there is a limit to how many pictures that can be received at one time - what if they are copies of the inmates pictures - one's of himself taking there ?

they willl count that as part of their limit . most facilities only allow an offender to have in his possion a limit of pictures no matter where they were taken.

Congradulations Korn - I hope your visit goes good. Depending on where your son is you might want to tell him to buy a picture pass so when you go you can take a picture together

My husband sent me his paperwork from intake today after being there for 37 LONG days!! He is level 3 and recommended to CIC in Pendleton, IN. He spent 14 months at county so I can't wait to actually get a contact visit!! Should be able to go see him within the next few days. Most men's prisons in Indiana have 2 hour visitations during the week and 1 hour on weekends and holidays. You can get tons of info about the prisons here and inmate search at www.in.gov/indcorrections. IF any of you out there with loved ones in Indiana just need to chat or talk - feel free to PM or email me - I also have AIM (highonlife42203) Would love to hear from you!!!

unicorn_1965,

The address to MCF is PO Box 900 Bunker Hill, IN 46914. You must have the inmate's name above the address with their DOC #. Don't worry too much about MCF. It isn't that bad of a place. It is a new prison. The guards are pretty nice... If you have any more questions, just let me know! Take care!

I am a new member and my son was just moved to Putnamville. I am finding lots of great information on this site about it. I just heard from him tonight and he said it's not too bad there but I still don't know much. Haven't been able to visit yet but looking forward to seeing him.
