My son is up for parole. He is currently on Michael's Unit in Tennessee Colony. Where do I send support letters? Do I send to Austin or the Unit? Is there a regional parole board address? I'm lost with all this. Im also confused about this short way date stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there a place to buy a parole packet or a general outline to use and when do you start a packet? My son PED is March 1, 2010. He will have served 2 years of his 4 years sentence.

Default What about Gurney?

Where should I write Parole Prep letters? I initially wrote to Austin, to the Parole Board Members of Palestine, and the Regional Director of the Parole Division in Dallas. My son has been in review since July - the IPO visited him then. I call each week and they tell me "it is in review." I want to write letters again. Should I write to all of these same people again? Is there anything else I can or should do?

Any words of wisdom will be appreciated.

A parole packet is something that you do yourself. it is just an organized collection of material to support his parole. It could include letters from family, friends, co workers, etc supporting hjis parole, providing personal reference and perhaps describing positive changes they have noticed since incarceration. It could include letters from businesses offering employment. Often they include pictures of them. It could include just anything at all that might help nudge the parole board to vote for parole.

Hello,
I saw my son this weekend and he said that the IPO came and visited him last week he told Russell that he would have an answer for him this month (March). My question is....Is it too late to send a parole packet in?
Thank you for your time
Brenda

Transfer of parole is done through the Interstate Compact Commission and can be started either before he is released by submitting an out-of-state address as his parole destination or by submitting for a transfer after he is released to an in-state address.

It might be too late for the IPO working up the file but it is not too late for the voters to see as long as they have not voted. If it is his first review then it usually takes a while for the file to make it to the board after the interview so you may still have time to send it in. I would send it to the local parole board office that will be voting on him. You can call that office to find out if his file is there.

Default Parole Packet-Release Line Numbers

Hello and Welcome to the Texas Forum. A parole packet is simply an organized collection of support letters from family, friends, pastor, or professionals in the community. Basically anyone who can "vouch for" his upstanding character, also include any offers of employment he may have. Family photographs or any completed course of certificates should also be included. You can call the Board that voted on him first, the number is below. Here are two Huntsville numbers for release: 936-291-2106 and 936-291-4209. He should be under the San Antonio Board, below is that address and phone number. Hope this helps, others will be along soon. God bless as always.

SAN ANTONIO BOARD OFFICE

2902 N.E. Loop 410, Suite #206
San Antonio, TX 78218
210-564-3721
210-564-3726 Fax

Jerry when my son first got there I sent the support letters to Austin. Austin will forward them to the Board, who will vote on his file. Here is the address:

Texas Board of Pardons and Parole
P.O. Box 13401, Capitol Station
Austin, Texas 78711
