Default Share a ride

My husband is in Cayuga COrrectional Facility. He gets visits from 5-9 on Saturdays. I'm currently from the Syracuse area. I was wondering if anyone needed a ride there. They are more then welcome to ride with me.

I think you would be doing a lot of traveling from lga to southport. When are you going,s o I can try and set up some kind of itinerary for you. Because laguardia is far from southport.

If you're from the nyc area, you can take either Kismet or Rambo.... sorry, no train or bus... Cayuga is about 4 hours away from nyc.

Kismet: 646 294 1180

Rambo: 817 567 1685

Both have pickups in Brooklyn, queens, bronx, manhattan (125th street)... Certain areas, rambo does door-door service.

I used to take Rambo when my husband was at Auburn, Cayuga was his first stop.
He is pretty good, gets you there on time and for a reasonable price.

Default One More Question ... Free Bus

ok i have ONE more question on the bus/van service lol .. does anyone know anything about that free bus that goes up once a month or so to Cayuga?? If so would you be able to give me some information on it. My friend is going up but her hubby is in the "box" so I'm not sure if all these van services go up then but she has 2 kids too and one company wanted her to pay extra for her 2 babies ... so does anyone have any information on the Free Bus Services

Unhappy

Unfortunately, Flamboyant is the only bus/van service I know of that does evening visits & charges outrageous prices...

You can contact Deacon Mason @ 917-743-2320; the free bus goes up the 2nd Saturday of the month, but it doesnt go up for evening visits...

If you're going to ride the free bus & you do not have a bus ticket, please make sure you contact the facility to add your name to the list; the facility does a verification check; anyone on the list do not get visits terminated when the visiting room is maxed out. Let's say, that 2nd saturday is on a even # day (not ur visit day) & you forgot to add your name to the list, you will be one of the first to get your visit terminated when the visiting room is at max capacity.

Also, if you ride the paid bus/van services, they will terminate your visit when the visiting room is maxed out by First In, First Out (it happened to me, so I do not do visits the 2nd sat of the month any more). they dont go by your travel distance like other facilities

thank you for the information ... the number that you gave me is that for the free bus or the night bus service???

Also I was told when I was there last weekend that they do go by where you come from. The woman that I had to sign in with asked me where I was coming from for that reason. I was told since I was coming from the NYC area I shouldn't get my visit terminated. Although I have it set up to where I go the 1st weekend of the month. When I went last weekend it was nice there was NO ONE there lol and thats when they told me about the free bus and how it's crazy. I have May all set up for when I go and it'll be the 3rd and that's the 1st Saturday of May so I should be clear then from the Free Bus. But, June I'd plan to go up on June 7th which is a Saturday that is the 1st Saturday of the month but the 2nd weekend of the month because well June starts the weekend before on Sunday So June 7th I should be safe from the Free Bus right??? lol

but yea that number you have me thats the free bus or the night bus?? Although if its the free bus I guess it doesn't matter because my friend has the box visits.

Free bus info:
The person who is incarcerated need to contact the DOCS for Family Visiting Program. I am not 100% sure but it is likely to be the Ministerial, Family and Volunteer Services at 163 West 125th Street 18th Floor New York NY.
Once the request is approved, the inmate will receive the free bus ticket and then will be forwarded (mailed) to you. Once you receive the ticket, you will then need to call certain number to confirm/reserve your ride. The free bus from NYC meets at 40th street and 8th ave by the NY Times building.

I know that they go for the morning visit but not sure if they have a special free bus service for the box....
