Default Hotels...Butler

Best Western Weedsport Inn on (Route 31) 2709 Erie Dr. phn: (315) 834-6623. Rates average $50-$55/ night and Days Inn on Route 34 are both located within a mile of Exit 40 (Weedsport) of the NYS Thurway I-90. Butler is located about 20 miles from exit 40. There are a few resturants in the area.

- Any questions on my personal opinions and experiences with these hotels please send a PM.

I can name a whole bunch. But I recommend the Holiday Inn on Davis St. Its about 7 blocks away from the prison. They are very clean and have great customer service.

I like the Holiday Inn Riverview on Water Street. It's close to Elmira and Southport (10 min). It is a bit pricey ($75/nite if you book online at least 2 weeks in advance). But the beds are soooo comfy, and it's clean and spacious, and they are soo nice

I have stayed at the Coachman motor lodge, it was ok. It has a seperate bedroom and a living room/kitchen. The thing I didn't like is there is no tv in the bedroom, and I need that to fall asleep, otherwise I hear every little noise. I tried sleeping on the couch but that didn't work for me.

ANd I heard the Red Jacket Inn on Rt 17 is decent.

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT stay at the Relax Inn in Elmira it is NASTY and scary, I actually found another hotel room and left. ANd I found out that a couple of people committed suicide there. I rather sleep in my car.

I just booked a room for this weekend at the Knight's Inn in Horseheads, which is less than a half hour from Southport. It's on Westinghouse Rd & that's off Route 14,which is off Route 17.The room was cheap,$43 a night with AAA discount.I'll let you know how it was when I get back!
Take Care,B
PS:Another good one is Motel 6 on Route 17.They are cheap too,but they were booked for the weekend.Everything else was more expensive than Knight's Inn.

Just wanted to let you all know that the Knight's Inn in Horseheads is ok.Not the best but will work in a pinch! There is a Friendly's,a Dunkin Donuts & a McDonald's right near it & it's only 5 Minutes from the exit off of Rt 17 to go to Southport, which is Exit 56,Church St.
The motel needs a little updating as far as the room goes,& the bed was hard. The TV channel selection is limited too.No alarm clock in room so bring a travel alarm.
But it was fairly quiet & it was pretty clean & I felt safe enough.
So,there it is.Not the best, but definitely not the worst! If you can't get a room anywhere else then this one is do-able.
Take Care,B

The Motel 6 was nice, cheap and very comfortable. the room was nice and the heat workd. Alot of hotels have no heat. the bed was comfortable and the channel selection was pretty good. I would go back there and recommend it to anyone.

The Motel 6 is a good bet. Not nearly a luxurious as the Holiday Inn and similar places, but it works. No Internet, and not the best t.v. channels, but it is clean and the rate works. I find the independent cheapy places are just a little too run-down for my tastes. Motel 6 is just enough for a night's sleep, without breaking the bank. Still, if you want a comfortable, and relaxing night it could well be worth the extra bucks for an upgrade to the Holiday Inn.

Looking for a good rate and close to Elmira. I will be there for almost a week. Has anyone ever flown into Elmira airport. The flight are cheaper than flying into Syacuse. Can some of you guys give me some insight.

I did a check and found that there is a Holiday Inn
Waterloo (Seneca Falls)
2468 Mound Road
Waterloo, NY 13165
888-890-0242

I havent called for prices but I figured Id post.
This would also be helpful for those at Five Points as well since the facilities are near each other.

There are many hotels in and around the Elmira area,
Horseheads has several located there, and it is the next town to Elmira and only a few minutes away.

Check on line, just type in Elmira Hotels.

Here are two that I can think of.

Unsed to be Howard Johnson's, the name has changed 607-739-5636

2671 Corning Road
Horseheads, HY 14845

It may be in another town but really is only down the road a bit.

Left turn out of the facility parking lot onto Davis Street,
Davis street, (facility located here) turns into Oakwood Ave which turns into Crning Road. Hotel is in Horseheads, on the left side. A Friendly's is just across the parking lot.

A bit on the older side, but clean, reasonable rates, out door swimming pool, some rooms with internet access.

Mark Twain Motor Inn 607-739-1658

1996 Lake Street Rive
Elmira, NY 14901

another older motel, basic rooms, decent rates,

Best part is it is just down the road from Elmira, W McCanns Blvd is just across from the motel and leads right into Davis Street.

Default Days Inn

Lady,

the closest hotel is the Holiday Inn which is about two blocks away. However, Im convinced that they have rigged their reservation system with ESP to detect when someone is visiting Auburn because they never seem to have availability unless you are booking 2 or 3 nights at a time. Even then, their rate per night is outrageous. The only place I stay is the Days Inn, which is about a 7-10 minute walk from the facility. Its not the Ritz, but the rooms are clean, the owner and his wife are sweet as pie and the rate is right. Their continental breakfast isn't horrible either. He will also work something out with you if you just need a room for a couple of hours to shower and change in the early AM. They are at 37 William Street and the # is (315) 252-7567.

Oh yeah, if you value cleanliness and safety, I would not suggest the budget inn down the block...

I stayed at the Knights Inn it had ants everywhere in the bed, it was nasty and old. But very cheap close to Elmira.
