If you're coming from anywhere farther than Blythe itself, I'd definitely recommend getting that visiting form in and making sure you're approved before you get there. I've seen what looks like them processing a visiting form there at the Visiting Office for someone who's there from out-of-state, but they certainly aren't required to do anything apart from the standard procedures. There's no guarantee that they'd have the staff, or the right computer access, or whatever they might need to be able to approve you on the spot. So mail that form in!

Was your man transferred there from a diff prison? If he got transferred then you should be ok!

I just noticed HS said something about out-of-state.....so if you dont live in cali then i would do awhole new visitng form and mail it in.....it took me about 2-3 weeks to get approved....

Yes, 2 years, once you're approved. All things considered, if he has to be in prison, CVSP is a good one to be in. We were skeptical about J being in Blythe at first, and true, the weather isn't great, but it's a pretty relaxed environment compared to most and we've ended up being grateful that he's there.

RobbiesGirl is right. There's a lot of good information in some of the older threads. I remember we answered a lot of visiting questions in one of the threads that was started by Kisstina___ (I don't remember her full screen name). Go ahead and read as much as you like, and come on back and ask any questions you don't find the answers to. You're always welcome here and we're happy to answer questions, because we've all gone through that at one time or another. Plus, if you hang out here, you'll get to become one of the "Chuckie's Chicks"!

You have to be approved before you see an inmate? I have been receiving unrequested and unwanted letters from an inmate at this prison and not sure what to do to stop this. If I am reading this thread correctly, I don't have a choice when it comes to receiving unwanted letters but if I want to see him/her I would have to be APPROVED?

Thats correct you would have to be aproved to visit an inmate at cvsp! If this peron is righting you and you want him or her to stop you can contact the warden or some one and have them tell him to stop or file a restraining order! Though they will probably ask y he has you're info if u you're self didn't give it to him! You could also just mark it return to sender that's the simple least complicated way to do it!
