ok, my hubby doesnt come home for over 5 years and i was wondering could i pay off his over 2000 in court costs? we live in pasco n id love to have one less thing for him to worry about when he comes home, on top of his probation costs, drug counseling which he compleed on his own yet was ordered to do again n among other costs. ugh! id just love to get it done for him.

Yes, you can pay his court fees. Here in Brevard County you can even make partial payments. My daughter-in-law hopes to have my son's court costs paid by the time he gets home too. You're very right- he will have more than enough things to worry about once he gets home.

Yes you can. Call the clerk's office to find out how they prefer you pay.

Is he at a facility that has the PRIDE program? If so, he can try to get a job w/ them. Although they don't pay much, cents per hour, they do take a percentage of their pay and send payments to pay these kinds of fees. It helps tremendously. Ben paid 2/3 of his fees this way when he worked for PRIDE. It also helps him contribute to this on his own and not put it all on you or the 2 of you when he comes home.

-to find out if PRIDE is offered at his facility it will be listed on the DOC website for the prison

You can check on the DOC website to see if they have PRIDE or not. It's a great program (or the one Ben was involved with was) and they actually get to work. Ben felt like he was going to a real job everyday and he liked being out of the dorms.
