How long does it usually take before they can make calls again once they've been mainlined? my boyfriend was just transferred from Lancaster, where he was in reception... no idea when he was transferred, though, the last letter I recieved from him was on the 10th, and I just happened to look him up on the cdcr.ca.gov site just now and it said he's now at Chuckawalla. I've had one hell of a week, my man not being here for my birthday and all, and all I want is to here his voice again... any idea how long I can expect to be waiting for that?

I was told that if I go c him, I can only c him 2 hrs. Through glass. It's a 4 1/2 hr drive ea way.from our house. We have to wait till he gets classified, which can take up to 3 weeks. Does anyone know the process?

Inmates generally see classification committee within 10 to 14 working days, they are classified in to a privilege group and given jobs, etc. at that time. After being classified they are no longer restricted to non contact visits.

I hope this clears up any questions you have

Unhappy Husband Just got transferred to Chuckawalla

My husband just got transferred to Chuckawalla. This is the first time he's been to prison so I don't know how anything works. We have 5 kids together and have been together for 14 years. Its been really hard for the kids and I. We havent talked to him or seen him since August, I really miss him. I created an advance pay account but was told I have to fax phone bill and utility bill to Global Tel Link I did already but still havent heard from him and he hasn't written since he was transferred November 1. I know I'm being impatient but I'm missing him more now than ever. Does anyone have any info that would help me?

just be patient usually he has to go through orientation before they get settled in and can make phone calls and write it takes a lil bit too for their property to get to them also and if he got moved on the 1st depending on where he was before it will take a few days for him to even get to chuckawalla because they will have layovers at other prisons if u have a house phone it is much easier and dont have to set up a advance pay account usually that is if u want him calling a cell phone to my knowledge. as soon as he gets processed u can call the prison and see if he is availible for visits i know when my hubby got there a few weeks ago he was placed in the hole because there was no where to put him it took about a week for him to get to his new place on mainline so he might be waiting in the hole to find a bed too.

you can use jpay.com as long as you have the cdc number there is a fee and takes a couple days to get there but that is the quickest way or you can send a money order to that inmate like you are mailing a letter to him just put the inmates name and cdc number on it it takes longer for them to get the money with money order than jpay

I just need to know about dress code...I talked to someone this morning but she wasn't of much help, lol. She did give me some insight on what I can wear there (apparently a lot more strict than Norco, where I'm currently at)....do you know anything about the bras there? Are they really anal about having wireless bras??

Could someone PLEASE tell me if it's normal procedure for an inmate to be housed in an Administrative Segregation Unit UPON ARRIVAL to Chuckawalla? Do you know how long it takes until classification hearing ? Thank you

Inmates may be initially housed in administrative segregation upon arrival due to several reasons which may include

No available bed space on the yard
No central file present for review
Improper endorsement
No appropriate bed (e.g. Inmate needs a low bunk/low tier and no such bed is available)

Those are the most common reasons of which no available beds on the yard happens the most. If this happens to be the case with your individual he will be released to the yard as soon as a bed becomes available for him. Beds become available as inmates parole or transfer.

Inmates will see classification committee within 10-14 working days.

I hope this answers your question

hello, my boyfriend was just transferred to Chuckawalla this morning. I only know because i checked the inmate locator. i havent been able to talk to him on the phone since february because he was in reception, and reading this forum, makes me think i will probably get a call from him soon? im so excited, i could die thinking of receiving a phone call from him! i am more than 400 miles away from Chuckawalla, so im wondering, should i set up a gtl account as soon as possible, or just wait on a phone call or letter from him? my funds are EXTREMELY limited, so this is a big issue for me. can anyone help me out?
