Bellie, he is in Cessnock isn't he?! Day leaves he has to stay in Cessnock, weekend leaves they normally say within a 3 hour driving distance radius...

If you haven't done your sponsorship yet they will give it to you all in writing. It is heaps of hoop jumping, but I'm sure it will all be worth it once he is home.

They sat on my partners c3 last month it was approved, went to Sydney for their approval, so now the waiting game begins... How long did it take ur man to hear back???

Yeh he is in cessnock but his family is in Newcastle. I don't understand why he can't go 50km away.

My sponsor has not been approved as yet. He put his in around January. His dad did the sponsor forms then. I did mine end of feb. his had to come to Sydney too because of public interest whatever. I remember getting it in writing last time but not this time.

I have just read my paperwork and he will be able to go to Newcastle for day leaves after having one in cessnock. According to my paperwork he has to do one within the local government area, the next one can be within an extended radius which should include maitland and Newcastle... I live around that area and cessnock is such a hole Newcastle would be so much better to spend the day in...

Yeah mine put it in in january also, the governor approved it a couple of weeks ago and then it went to Sydney as mine is public interest too... Apparently Sydney was meant to sit on it today, I hope they male their decision quickly... I haven't seen him in over 4 months....

Ours was in Sydney for 5 weeks. Do you think the fact that I had the ban is causing an issue? I'm guessing you didn't get visits back.

And, if that's the case what's around cessnock that we can do?

We were told to expect it to take around 6 weeks... It doesnt worry us too much as he can't start his leave til July anyway, but he is sooo stressed...

Well it is a definite possibility that it might slow it down and make them look at u more carefully, but the fact that u r allowed to visit now should be enough for them to not hold that against u... Mine was approved within 2 weeks, but his parents were told that they wont even worry about looking into them until he has his c3, so that might be the case with u... Now that he has it they might just look into it and approve it asap...

Hmmm good old cessnock, it does have some nice cafes and wineries for lunch. It has a chocolate factory, some of the outer suburbs r quite nice.. Hopefully u will only have to b there once

Lol no luck with my visits, didn't expect much 2 b honest at least I tried. We've adjusted well though, even if the c3 falls through we only have 14 months to go so that is doable...

Congrats again, I can only imagine how excited u must b )))

We were told he can be near it just can't consume it... If he can't be near alcohol there goes almost every restaurant...

We were told that my partner wasn't to eat anything in beer batter and if he had to have any ness even panadol he had to call the jail first and get permission or else it will be considered a dirty urine...

Question

Is that how it works u have apply everytime u want a day release. My partner gets his c3 in July and I have the sponcer interview in May. What are they going to ask me and if u don't pass the interview does that mean he won't get any release days ?

Ahh no. He was knocked back a year ago.

Izzi it's not an interview it's paperwork. I signed mine in February and it's still not approved. At present his dad is the only sponsor.

He has to do three days before a weekend a month apart unless he works in special projects. He changed jobs yesterday. He basically fills out a form so it's not whether he is approved its to see if it's changed to fortnightly.
