Default JPAY Question- Can the inmate find out how many people you Jpay?

Is it true that an inmate can get access from their case manager to find out to how many people (you) the sender are sending other jpays to from your account.?

Example:
Shannon Smith is sending jpays to 6 inmates.
And inmate #1 can find out about the other 5 inmates?

Is this true or a myth?

I have never heard of that but I am pretty sure unless they log into your account they have no access to information like that......

Wow!! I would hope that is confidential information via JPay. Have you called them to find out?! They will be able to tell you.
Glad I'm honest with all of my PPs though. I'd hate for one to be able to find out like that. I really don't think it's the case though.

Doubt case worker can access jPay but you know how inmates gossip. They may 'share' the good news about who supports them and that bit of 411 may fly all over the prison if they are in the same prison.

This doesn't sound reasonable to me as it would be a huge invasion of privacy but it tickles me that anyone would care or dare I say have something to hide?

And btw, jpay has staff you can contact for information about their policies.

I agree with Xanthra, they know a lot more than we might expect just because they gossip like girls at a slumber party.

I was initially all gung ho about using J pay however it was pointed out to me that it is not covered under the same privacy laws as the US post mail.

It is not true - any more than the inmate (or counselor) could find out what credit card you are billing it to. Without a court order.

It IS curious to me that this should be a concern or issue for anyone. Who you send money to is your own business, not your inmates. Just curious... paranoia can be SUCH an interesting and revealing thing.
