Does anyone know how far backed up Ashmore is with processing family visits? I mean, my hubs is in A yard and they are all locked down, but once the lock down is over, I would love to get a weekend with him for Christmas....

After all...it will be the first time we have been alone together in 22 years!

Okay so I just got my marriage certificate today and now me and my husband are ready to apply for family visits but I'm completely lost on how to go about it. Does he ask for a packet or do I? Is it a good idea to mail him a certified copy or should I be sending it to the family visit coordinator? I have a lot more questions but I'll start there for now. Lol. Thanks for any help in advance!
Can you tell me about the marriage process and how long you had to wait and what was it like ? I'm in the process of getting married and just would like to know what to expect.

Well where are you on the process? First he fills out the application. Then he sends it to you and you fill it out and you send a copy of your ID and birth certificate. When you send it back it'll have to get signed off by his counselor, the CII and I believe the captain. Once that's done it'll go to the marraige coordinator and she will contact you to send money orders for the license and chaplain and also give you a date. Hope that helps

Thank you so much. It helped a lot. He has the papers filled out by both of us and also his birth certificate so I'm sending him mines and my ID copy. Because I'm so excited I just wanted to know what to expect.
How long did your whole process take ?

I think you're supposed to be the one who sends it to the coordinator. Hopefully she'll accept it from him.

It took us about 8 months from beginning till the day we got married

Oh okay I'll just have him send it back and I'll send it to her.
Wow 8 months ? I thought at least like 4 months. But it's worth it. How was your ceremony && how much did you pay all together. If you don't mind me asking.

You get an hour total. Enough to sign the papers, the ceremony, some pictures and a super short visit. It was $5 for the packet. $90 something for the chaplain and I believe $40 something for the license

Thank you. I talked to the counselor today. I don't think I'll have to wait 8 months. Oh. That's not a lot of money. Wish I could get a good visit after. That sucks.

It takes about 3 weeks to get a date after approved from counselor then they usually set date 2 to 3 weeks out
