Default KVSP Outmates/Familes Are Awesome

There isn't a "general" thread for KVSP, so I'm just going to post it here and hopefully it fits the guidelines.

The folks who post for this facility are amazing!! I knew that, but looking at the threads for the facilities my LO is set to transfer to this coming year, I'm already sad to be leaving behind such a supportive, pro-active, informative group that has formed here for KVSP.

My guy and I really appreciate your presence and your contributions. It has made this leg of the journey more bearable for both of us. I can't tell you the number of times I've received letters saying, "We've been down for a few days now. You probably know more about it than I do. Tell the ladies, thanks." Of course he means this awesome network of PTO'ers who jump on here and share what they know. I get more sleep and can set my heart at ease more often than not because of your willingness to participate in this forum.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Know exactly what you mean, if it wasn't for PTO & you women I don't know how I would have got through some of the stuff we go through and deal with, even the silly things. And like your man, mine has started saying 'you probably know more than me' LOL.

One of the best and useful bit of info I learnt through one of you ladies was '1st Wednesday & 3rd Friday' are down days

So thank you too, all of you

It is sad that other forumns don't have the great support we have here. and "Yes" our guys do know what a fount of information we have here. More than once he has said.. Hey Babe will you jump online and see if you can find out what went on, on such & such ... We always laugh about me knowing more of what goes on in there than I should because of PTO

Thanks Ladies

Maybe my "proper training" here can be taken forward with me to the new facility forum. I'll spearhead a campaign of kindness! (I'm having a good day, can you tell? lol)

Aww, thanks, T! He's been approved (endorsed?) but goodness knows the wheels turn slow on these things. In this case, that's a good thing because we're still trying to get married. And I do not want to start over in another county with that mess. So I'll be here a while, yet.

Just peeped the other forums and noticed they weren't nearly as active. Feeling the attitude of gratitude, for sure.

I'm glad you get to stay with us little bit longer.....I'm stingy....there's only about maybe a dozen of us who post regular so im definitely going to miss ur presence u bring, but I hope for you n urs sake that where he goes its better then here. I will be that u n urs are married before he gets transferred. The man above can move mountains and part seas.

I've been away for a few days and the first thing I did when I fired up my computer was check this forum. I feel like I'm checking in with the fam.
Hope all went well with visiting today and that calls are coming through from those still waiting.

Happy weekend'ing!

Happy New Years all!
One more year closer to our loved ones

Today at visit I learned that the photo token machine is hardly ever working and that we are able to put money into our loved ones account so THEY can purchase the pictures.
Just heads up incase someone's trying to visit this weekend and you have time (maybe if you JPAY by tonite?) to JPAY $ so they can purchase the pictures for your next visit!

Anyways that's all I found out today, other then that, it was an awesome visit! Process was easy-peasy- & our loved ones were out hella fast! Like they should be!! Hehe....I wish they would keep this fast process up.

The men have to purchase them on their canteen, which is once a month, but yes photo tickets are out there . The token machine only works first thing in the morning. The early bird gets her photo lol.

Well, this is not exactly news ... but we are still there!
Babe got transferred to a new tier (yard? I don't know exactly) and now is attending classes through Bakersfield University (or something like that). We have yet to plan another visit. Last time I was there was early November.

Funny you should say this I've been thinking everything on kvsp has been quiet lately. No mail, phone or visiting problems. Good for all :-D

Ha! Sometimes quiet is good, eh?

mammaseeta-- congrats on the move, it sounds like a positive for him. I'd be curious to hear more about the classes if you get any more info. Mine is still trying to get into the GED course there, but he's on this kick right now of wanting to learn...anything!

Shelly--I think you asked about a crossword puzzle a while back. Did that go ok? Did you use an online generator?

I do have news, but I'm being completely superstitious so I won't post in "that" forum, yet. For those who have seen my ridiculously long struggle to get a wedding date...well, the struggle is over.

Yes thanks, is done will be sending Monday. Just before last valentines we said we were taking it to the next step & I didnt do anything but he did & I felt a bit guilty. I've not done valentines for a few yrs so thought instead of making it about the day I'd make it about the month. Have been sending him cards & letters every week. He should have got his 1st card this week. Takes about 7-10 for our mail.

& hey I get you with the superstition, sometimes I wana tell you all whats going on but dont wana jinx it
Good to hear the struggle is over tho. Look forward to hearing about the next chapter :-D
Stay strong girl, good things come to those who wait... they deserve it

I've missed you! I'm sorry to hear you've been down but I'm so glad to see you back!

The date is in a month. I'll post the exact date in the marriage forum when my stomach can handle a public countdown. *ha!*

Lol yes I understand the count down situation......just like when fam n friends ask me when his he coming home I always reply irk it will be the day I pull up with him in the vehicle. I don't want to say how many years or what year ....too affraid it will make him catch more time. Amy the system. Well I will 've excited to start that count down! Its good to be back on hear reconnecting. Didnt realize how much it helps the long days and the stares at the phone.

Hey y'all!
It's another beautiful KVSP down day and that started me thinking. Phones are down for the majority of our guys which means most of us get to unclip the "leash" on our ends, too.

Am I the only one who plans things on down days that are best not interrupted by a phone call? Like getting your hair done or coffee time with a friend?

Don't get me wrong, I don't let his schedule dictate mine, but we don't have set times to call so down days are the only days I can count on zero-calls.

Tonight I'm going to a game night at a friend's place and my cell phone will be turned off!
