Is anyone having issues with your phones? My husband has been trying to call me, but says my phone gives him a message about my number not working? He does call my google voice # Not sure if that is the issue?

Default phone problems

Have someone call your google number and see what happens...it might be something going on with the phones at USP.

Call forwarding is not allowed on the bop's inmate telephone system, and google voice is call forwarding. The phone security software looks for forwarded calls, and if it finds them, a conduct violation and punishments follow. They almost always result in a long phone restriction (zero calls for months) and sometimes a stay in the SHU too.

If that happened to him, letters and reduced visits are the only ways to communicate, and he is the only one who can tell you what is happening..

Hello to everybody! They are on lockdown again. I get right now a email :,,they have us on lock down again, so only let us out for showers & to write to let our love ones know that we're ok & all!,, That system there is not normal. I go crazy with that. I really feel so so sorry for the guys, it's hard enough to sit there for so many years and then so often on lockdown. :,-(

So, they're at it again.. got a quick phone call this morning.. they were on lockdown all of yesterday, they're only out for 2 1/2 hours today, then probably be locked down much or all of the weekend. That's what he's hearing, at least. All I can say is WTF.

My boyfriend heard they will be off on Monday. I guess there was a fight in the kitchen so they decided to lock everybody down.

My bf emailed me today as well and confirmed what Sueshe said in an earlier post. They locked down Wednesday, were only out for a few hours today and are expected to be locked down for the whole weekend. He was not given any indication as to when it might end though so I hope it is Monday. This is just stupid and excessive.

My emails are almost always delayed. We started putting the time in our notes to each other so we could see how long they were really taking to get through. Typically I receive them 2 or more hours after they were sent.

Yes so do I. They go through and read a lot of the emails to make sure that nothing is being written that is against USP policy.

I'm sure that the emails go through a filter first to trap certain words, phrases, unusual patterns, etc. then if something alerts them they will read them. That's what takes the two 2+hours. I doubt they take the time to read them from the get go, otherwise emails would be as slow or slower than the mail. There'd be way too many!! But if they are "watching" someone, they will monitor all that person's email and mail closely.

I also heard that the first day of lockdown was for BOP wide training (got info from an IL site) ... the other days are probably due to the fight.

No matter what, they do suck.

Still on lockdown Monday morning so of course no visits...wonder how long this one is gonna be?? They have been on lockdown for the last two months with just a few "free" days in between. I fear that somebody spent a lot of money to come visit this weekend and was not able to. I think we should just think that this is the new norm and be surprised if we can actually go visit. This is really hard on the children not being able to see their fathers.

Did anyone see what the injured inmate looked like when he was being transported to the ambulance?

Has anyone heard from their loved one? I've been calling the visiting there and it doesn't even play the message that there's no visits until further notice...

I haven't heard anything yet. With the past lockdowns my bf always sends me an email as soon as they are out, if he's unable to call. So the fact that things are silent makes me think something is still going on.

It was an Islanders brawl and one of em got knocked out. So again due to the actions of a few everyone gets locked down. There will be many many more lockdowns if this is the criteria they are using to go on lockdown.
