I haven't been on the board in awhile...but they've still got my husband. He got 37 months, but should be out in March 05 if they give him the full benefit of 6 months in the halfway house & the full 12 months off for completing DAP. Either way, it's not soon enough for me!

Does the BOP affect me? They have had my man's body for 22 years now but they don't have his heart and soul yet and I don't think they ever will. I can't tell you how much money I've spent over the years on traveling to visit him. And he's worked his fingers off for them and they've made a profit off of him in commissary, phone charges, vending machines, etc, and in return he gets lousy medical care, lousy dental care, and lousy education/job training. I don't know when he'll come home - he's under the old parole system. I don't think any of the pending legislation will apply to him but I'll work for it anyway cause no one else should have to be in that long. Affect me? I try real hard not to let it.

It's okay for all of you who cry....I've got over 16 years of the love of my life being a victim of unjust and utterly ridiculous sentencing guidelines. Sometimes I cry everyday for a month, sometimes I don't even cry for a month. Then you should see what a big baby I become when I have to say my final farwell in the visiting room. I cry my way home, 470 miles. I had to by a product from Benefit called "She-lack". Before I go to the visiting room, I put the stuff on my mascara and eyeliner so I don't look like a racoon in from of all the guys. And after all these years, my husband cries too when we have to seperate. We call it "seperation anxiety"!

And for all of you who take anti-depressents...that's why we have them...I bet loved ones of inmates are the most frequent users!!!!

Affect me, oh my God...not just me, but the kids and the whole family.

We are old law too. I doubt any of this new posssible legislation will benefit us. But I will fight for all people to be free from unjust prison sentences.

Zelda...you must be a true pillar of strength...22 years? oh my...I thought I had it rough...how do you do it?

Dan, if your wife doesn't come around, would you like all of us woman here to write you? Then at least it will appear as though you have a big fan club!!

Blessings and Kudos to all of us who have to live through any and all involvement with the BOP.

I have also been affected by the Federal System. My son has served one year with 4 more to go. The time gets easier but not better. When I actually say the words "he's in prison" still chokes me up and brings tears to my eyes and an ache in my heart. I guess it is that unconditional love of a parent.
I wish you all the best.

My husband is serving Life w/o parole in the federal system for "conspiracy to Possess with intent to distribute." Sooo, we've been through transfers across the country, reduction in phone limits, changes in everything from what type of shoes you can wear to how many pictures you can have. Although I'm happy he isn't in the state system due to cleanliness, he is serving his whole life because there is no parole!

I report to FPC Alderson on Monday 16th. Thanks to everyone for all the help and support I've found here. It has made this mess somehow easier to take. Thank you again.

My boyfriend is serving time in a federal prison. He was sentenced to a 10 year mandatory minimum. The thing that bothers me the most is that our little girl will be a young woman when her father is released from prison. She was 11 when he went away, and he's been gone almost three years now.

My husband is at "Club Fed" in Oregon for another year.

And Dan, hang in there - she may still come around. If she doesn't write to you, you have made friends here who will!

Well me and my 3 kids have also been affected by the prison system in a huge way. We are now in our 4th and hopefully last camp. We started in mdc brooklyn to fpc lewisburg, to fpc allenwood, now last but not least fpc mckean. We started going to mdc in 2002 me my 2 boys and belly, now in 2004 we still traveling me my 2 boys and lil girl. They make things harder for families to keep that tight bond (even though we still have it) by sending them from place to place. Far and far away. but hopefully if god permits and he gets in the next class we have 1 more year to go

I thought I had it bad but u ladies that been by your man all those yrs. I praise you that is wonderful It taks a strong woman to do that. and for all of us going through this no matter what length in time. stay strong. Keep it up. The inmates need all the love and support they can get.
