Default Which Arizona prisons have Protective Custody yards?

My bf is being moved to a Protective Custody yard, which he says will be closer to home (PHX). Which prisons have Protective Custody? Any clue where he may be placed?

There's no guarantee of him being moved to one closer to home but there are several on Lewis (Buckeye) and one on Safford. Unless he's a max custody you don't have to worry about him going to Eyeman (Florence). There are several others that aren't technically listed as PC but are used for it.

If he's going to be closer to Phx, my guess would be that he's going to Lewis.

I am wondering about Eyman Rynning Unit - Does anyone have a loved one there who can tell me anything about it? My son was recently moved there, so please be gentle...

My husband was in Rynning about a year ago but Rynning changes so much it's hard to tell. In the past two years it's been a medium yard and close contact yard. SO, PC and GP. For a while it was where they were sending those from Tucson who refused to integrate and now I believe they've started integrating.

It's a decent yard with a nice big outdoor visitation area. The swamp coolers are always going out but the maintenance supervisor is pretty good and the maintenance jobs there are great if your son is handy. When we were there there wasn't much for classes or programming but that may have changed.

There are no PC yards on Yuma. If an inmate there went PC they would be housed in seg until they could be moved to another prison.

It's not easy getting in PC. There is a process and it has to be proven that you are in danger. Even then, you may not end up in PC.

As I am considered an OG - have a very old number and have been down twice - I find your posting curious. If you have been down before you know that it is very possible to stay away from the political scene if you truly want to - have done so on 4, 3, and two yards as well as behind the walls. If you have not been down before - the last thing you want is a "jacket" - trust me it will follow you wherever you go - with this being the first time down in AZ - your looking at a three or two yard. Just keep your mouth shut and your eyes and ears open. My advice

I understand where you are coming from - but still - I guess I am just old school. I would not want to have a jacket hanging over my head. Unless you have a specific situation here in AZ or you have a ton of "do not house" - they are just going to throw you into GP. If something very serious were to then happen they might PC you for a while until they could transfer you to another GP yard. I don't know - PC yards here in az are for snitches, etc - I don't recommend it, and certainly would not want to be on one. As I said, am old school just not how I think - Best to you anyway.
